LG SP8YA Soundbar Overview

I just bought this soundbar along with the rear channel speakers SPK8-S to use with the LG C1 and PS5. I connected the SP8YA to TV through eARC and ps5 to TV through HDMI 2.1. My sound settings for TV: HDMI (ARC), Passthrough, sound share mode, bitstream

 I didn't even consider that there might be a stand alone app for the soundbar. I was wrong about that. So I read the directions and it said to download the LG wifi speaker app. So I did

 Not so much with LG in this experience.  Sound is generally great. The '5.1 surround without actual surround speakers' thing was actually a little more convincing than I was expecting if you're sitting in the right spot

 Just don't expect to have your mind blown. I've already ordered the rear speaker kit anyway so whatever. The center channel, where most dialogue is placed, sounds a little strong in the mids I think. Particularly during atmos content

A little trouble setting up, but sounds good. HDMI 2.1 features don't appear to be working.

 I'M officially hooked on lg definitely would recommend to family friends. This sandbar is vastly better than the older 2.1 bar it replaced, but it would be since it was only 200. I have no idea how this compares to other 450 sound bars, but this thing sounds great: it knocked stuff off the walls, music, movies games, tv, all sound great one thing

I bought this from best buy open box with a four year warranty. It was 440 dollars, total anyways. This sucker sounds great, i'm in kinda small bedroom, and i have this hooked up to my two-year-old 4k 55 inches samsung tv and it's really nice and puts out some great sound. The clear voice is nice for tv shows and anime that i watch, but it shines with 4k action movies marvel movies, for instance, sound amazing, the remote is decent, but i use the app on my phone a lot more since it's easier to change the different sound Settings highly recommend this soundbar

 This thing can't be mounted vertically. I was able to mount it to my under tv bracket by making a shelf with two six inch bolts and some hose, so it's pricey five hundred dollars is a lot. I have permanent hearing loss, so i need good speakers. Dolby atmos, though, is top notch

Recommendations for soundbar

 Even with the app, this sound bar has very little ability to modify in terms of getting a 5.1.2 effect. Even after using the auto calibration feature, I still was unable to get the "right behind you", "flying across the room", or "circle around you" effects

 When sound is supposed to be behind me, it comes in my peripherals. This is what I would expect from a center and two front speakers oriented around 30-45* from viewer.  Subwoofer is extremely good but that probably has more to do with my floor than the actual subwoofer. The floor reverberates giving the bass that sense of boooooom that certain scenes need

5.1.2 ... you are not sir. Not even close.

 You got the hole in back there, which could reflect off the sound, give it more of a full bass effect. So I saw both of them. This one here, this is a lot better quality for the price. I do like this one better in the sealed box

 It works perfect. You don't need the other 312, the 313 has another upfiring speaker here. As you know, Dolby Atmos is more three dimensional sound. So it's going to fire up up here from the ceiling, get more of effect

 So here's a picture of the other one here, this is a picture of the new one here. It does look a little bit different here and it does have a side woofer as you can see there. It's also skinnier. The price of here of $400 on sale from Best Buy right now, a Black Friday deal, I think this is a lot better subwoofer here

 In my opinion, this is just kind of an alternative to like the Adobe DTS 5.1. I do believe that having multiple speaker system here is so much better than having just a soundboard. So typically what your TV is, you have here the arc, the eARC

Is Dolby Atmos great on Klipsch Cinema 800?

 Highly recommend that instead, and get the sub and rears if you can. They’re worth the additional expense.

 It’s a night and day difference. Clear, powerful sound, the sub has presence and definition, and the rears integrate to produce immersive surround sound. The app is a lot better too, and pairing was easy.  I think the Arc even without the sub sounds better than this LG system
