 So they're both really, really light. That recycled PET has slightly better dampening properties as well. So what that gives you is a really lightweight overall board. This thing really weighs nothing

That nose is going to come up effortlessly in even the deepest snow and no matter how deep or how steep it gets, you're not going to have to work this board hard to stay afloat. Now I guess the starting point has to be the shape and to be honest, there's no real difference in terms of the shape between this board and the standard Orca. So what you've got is a wide profile nose, a short cut back tail, one centimetre of taper. So the nose is one centimetre wider than the tail

 Just like in the normal Orca, you're getting that magnetraction serrated edge. You can see it when you look down it, it's got a slight undulation to it, and what that's doing is creating more contact points to give the board better bite when you're in icy conditions. When you have a slight amount of rocker between the feet, it naturally makes the board a little bit looser, and so in order to accommodate for that slight looseness, that magnetraction side edge really does create a lot of grip and gives you really good contact when you are in shallow conditions or icy conditions. This board has about 11mm of taper, so the front end is slightly wider than the tail, but 11mm of taper isn't a ton of taper, so it's still fairly easy to ride this board in switch

 This thing is super primo, very lightweight, and incredibly snappy. It's their marquee snowboard in their Travis Rice lineup. It's a pleasure to be talking about this snowboard with you guys tonight. I've been riding this thing all winter season so far

My 10th year anniversary gift from my wife.

Saw the moderator post and it seems like I've only got a few days left till gear recommendations are banned when the real season starts. So I'm looking for some help. I've been snowboarding for a *long* time. I'm willing to bet around 25 seasons. But this year, my gear, as much as I've been able to repair it, is now un-useable other than wall art. And the last time I bought a new board was ....*checks history*.... 2010?! Yeah, I guess time flies when you keep putting off buying new gear because you like your own so much. Big on riding all whenever and wherever possible, but didn't really care about new gear.

Anyways, after not looking at the progression of gear in such a long time I need some help from the community. 6'2", 220lbs and 12 boots. I'm almost always riding big mountain, tree skiing, and powder days, and basically never in the park. I know from experience that I really enjoy the classic camber profiles and really stiff and aggressive profiles of boots, boards, and bindings. Probably because I also ride skis half the time when it starts getting icy.
To recap, help me understand the current board market and I'm looking for following

* Responsive gear for freeriding
* Wide board to make sure I don't get toe drag
* Stiff bindings
* directional board
* probably camber profile
* Bonus: awesome art graphics

Since this is going to be my next big ride for quite a while, I am serious when I also say, price is not an object. But I doubt any board-binding combo would be over $1.5k.

Modern gear recs for an expert snowboarder with really old gear

Hello expert snowboarders! 

I need your help. I've been snowboarding the same board for 20+ years (I'm 41 now) and I think it's time to buy a new snowboard. I tried to watch reviews, read articles, etc but holy moly have snowboards become complicated. It's like the reviewers are intentionally using made up words just to confuse me. (Is there a snow-boarding lingo for dummies book?). 

Well, I've managed to narrow it down that I want a **directional carving board** as I don't ride switch and I don't do parks any more. Too many injuries. 

I live in California, I can comfortably ride black diamonds, double blacks are doable just not enjoyed as much. I'm 6' + 200lbs. My current (ancient) board is a Burton Balance. 

I was thinking about the **Korua Shapes Cafe Racer** or the **Bataleon Cruiser**? 

Any help or suggestions are appreciated. I listened to reviews about these and other cruise/carve boards and the nuanced details are just lost on me.

Board for Ice/East Coast

Snapped my favorite board (title, was a 159) on Tuesday. It was my favorite board I’ve ever ridden and honestly I haven’t even been looking at boards since I bought it, just because I never had a reason to find anything else. That board felt as perfect as I could imagine a board to be.

It’s discontinued now, so I’m looking for something as similar as possible or maybe more aggressive, and I’m thinking lib tech’s apex orca? Is the only difference between the apex and the golden orca the sidecut? I wouldn’t mind something more aggressive/ chargier(?) than the gold member. Definitely want something super reliable when hauling and stiff for bigger park jumps. Not sure about volume shifted because I like having tail/ nose length when landing. Don't know much about them though.

I have 2021 Union Falcor bindings and 2021 Vans Verse boots. Love that combo. 

Wouldn’t mind branching out from lib tech but I like those people and I like supporting a local WA brand. Not concerned about price as much as performance. I still have a softer park set up to ride for now. 

Per rules I’m a male in my early 20s, 6’2”, 195lbs, 9.5 boot, freeride/ park focused. I want this board to ride mostly big mountain terrain.
