2022 Lib Tech Skunk Ape Review

I’m 6’4, 265lbs. Michigan based so that means icy conditions.

I started riding again last year after 12 years off. The board I rode last year was a Flying V type which I really hate. Before my hiatus i’d consider myself an intermediate/ advanced rider.
I’m sure I want a camber board but am overwhelmed with the options today and the weight recommendations stop below my weight. 
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

New Board Recommendations?

As the title states, I need one board that does it all. I am probably a higher-up intermediate rider. I can handle myself around the mountain, doing double blacks frequently and in the wintertime I like to use the local mountain bike jump trails for my board. I want to get into some more park riding though as I've just started to hit real jumps &amp; a few rails. I'm 15, 6'4", 180lbs. Also if anybody knows some good bindings/boot combos I'm all ears. What's a good all mountain board?

Hi all,

I recently got into snowboarding and took my first 10 lessons. I really love it but I feel like the rental boards are too soft for me.

I'm 6'2, 280-290lbs and size 13 boot.

I was looking around for a board so that I don't have to rely on rental gear anymore.

I was eyeing the following boards:
Burton Custom X 166W
Lib tech Skunk ape 169W (Or should I go for 172W?)
Jones Mountain twin 168W

Out of those 3, the Mountain Twin really caught my attention.
I'm unsure if I'm too heavy for it or if I should be fine.

For now I mostly do groomers but eventually I want to do some backcountry when I lose some weight.

If you guys have any other boards I should take a look at, please let me know!

Jones Mountain Twin for big guy?

Hey, I'm 6'3 225 lbs. Usually I try drop too about 200lbs for riding season. But as I get older its getting harder to put the muscle back on for summer. Would rather just stay at this weight.

Wondering which brands you guys like. Looking for a 163-165w freestyle board. As my Lobster Stomper 161w and NS Prototype2 158w will likely not handle my size/ weight.

I almost exclusively ride park, jumps mainly.

Freestyle boards for tall riders

I recently posted about my interest in one of these two boards, but I'm still undecided which should be best for me, or how the two boards differ. They are basically the exact same waist width (Skunk = 285, Stump = 284). 

I am 6'6" around 205 right now, but could get up to around 220 occasionally. My boot is about a 14/15. 

Could someone just please explain the difference between these two boards and why I should choose one over the other?

Skunk Ape 170UW vs Stump Ape 163W

I'm looking to get my first snowboard in years and I have settled on a RIDE, the problem is I don't know which one to get. Here is some context.

I'm 6'0 210 pounds and I want something that can do it all from all-mountain, park, etc. That's why I was leaning more towards the 2021 Ride Algorrthym, the only problem is I don't know if they have the right size for me. I do remember from when I used to snowboard years ago, I preferred a smaller board and love to carve to the mountain. I was thinking a 155w would be good for me but it says in the size chart 155w is up to 175lbs. I feel like 160W is going to be bigger than I want. Should I consider a different board or would one of these options be fine for me? I was also looking at the burnout and pig models, I guess my real question is how much over the recommended weight limit can I go? 

Also I have a 12 size shoe and when I got fitted for boots, they gave me 9.5 boots, so I was thinking I needed a wide but maybe I don't? Any help would be great

What RIDE is best for me?

Looking for a board for my brother-in-law. He's been so generous to my family over the years I'd like to see if I can score him something with summer sales to surprise him with this winter. He's a big guy though so all the gear shopping I've done for my compact 150lb self doesn't seem to readily apply.

* 215 lbs
* 6'3"
* 11.5 boot
* Tons of mountain biking and lifting in the off season - he's a powerful guy, can handle a beefy board
* 20+ years of snowboarding but limited to groomers if no new snow, fucking around in trees on powder days. 
* Never rides switch, no interest in park or flat land tricks, and not exactly laying it over on deep carves. Just a cruising kind of rider.
* I'd call him solid intermediate.
* Rides exclusively in the CA Sierras, mostly Tahoe. Sometimes crusty but not the Ice Coast by a long shot. 

Turns out he overheard me talking about gear 7-8 years ago and ended up buying himself a Ride Machete. A never-switch rider on a true twin that's probably not stiff enough for him kind of bums me out lol. Anyway, looking for ideas and wondering what riders who fit the above description think. Thanks

That's me, the old guy that talks about waiting for the new Transworld snowboard video to drop on VHS... 

 My equipment is almost as old. I took a decade or so hiatus, and am looking to log some days this year. I'm out of the loop, so I'm unfamiliar with some of the brands to come on the market 

I've been lurking through the board recommendation threads, but could still use some help. 

 I'm 48, 6'1, 13 boot and 240#. Pretty good shape, I'm also the old guy in the gym a few days a week.... 

 I considered myself a capable all mountain rider back in the day and spent my time in bounds powder hunting in the trees.

 I have an eye on a GNU Banked Country in a 162, and like the looks of some of the Arbor offerings, but if you guys have any input, I'd definitely like to hear it.
