I've just recently moved from New Zealand to Vancouver and I think it's time for a new board. I researched quite a bit but I'm super confused by all the choice that is available. 

I'm looking for suggestions if anyone has any.

Height: 5' 6"  
Weight: 57 kg/125 lb  
Skill level: Advanced Intermediate. Comfortable on blues and some blacks. Don't usually go switch so directional is fine with me.  
Terrain: Mostly all mountain with a tiny bit of park. (I like buttering and small jumps)  
Budget: \~600-700 CAD  


Based on the details above I was thinking something around 150cm and with hybrid camber/rocker.

As the title says I’m a 6’1 250lb guy and wondering if it would be a bad idea to get into snowboarding I’ve wanted to get into it for a while but didn’t want to drop money into something that I wouldn’t physically be able to do. I’m not pure fat Not sure what my muscle to fat % is but I am a decent mixture I’m pretty athletic was a starting right tackle OL if you know football you’ll know that’s a physically Demanding position I do want to lose some weight so realistically I should be maybe 230 by the time I actually start.


Also also side note do you get shoe sizes to size smaller or bigger? I’m foot size 14.5 so it’s just a weird nervous thing😅

Snowboarding as a 6’1 250lb man

Hello expert snowboarders! 

I need your help. I've been snowboarding the same board for 20+ years (I'm 41 now) and I think it's time to buy a new snowboard. I tried to watch reviews, read articles, etc but holy moly have snowboards become complicated. It's like the reviewers are intentionally using made up words just to confuse me. (Is there a snow-boarding lingo for dummies book?). 

Well, I've managed to narrow it down that I want a **directional carving board** as I don't ride switch and I don't do parks any more. Too many injuries. 

I live in California, I can comfortably ride black diamonds, double blacks are doable just not enjoyed as much. I'm 6' + 200lbs. My current (ancient) board is a Burton Balance. 

I was thinking about the **Korua Shapes Cafe Racer** or the **Bataleon Cruiser**? 

Any help or suggestions are appreciated. I listened to reviews about these and other cruise/carve boards and the nuanced details are just lost on me.

Board for Ice/East Coast

Early season still, and I only have 5 days on the mountain - but this board slays everything in its path. I'm 132 lbs, 7.5 boot and ride a 153, and I'd say it fits just right. I paired it with the Union Strata, which compliments it well

Quiver Killer

 Having just picked up and flexed this board in the shop it did not seem like it could ride as smooth as it did. Very locked in feel when I was going top speeds and very damp. It carves very well at high speeds but still has some playfulness to it when you throttle down. This board was chargy and stable with excellent edge control
