. I feel they could have done much more here and overall, it's a very safe and familiar design mechanically and thematically. So while it's a solid game, it's not a revelation for similar gameplay, try raiders of scythia and for a different take on archaeology.  Can you lead an expedition to explore the island, find lost, artifacts and face fearsome guardians all in a quest to learn the island's secrets? The game ends after five full rounds of play with the staff moving right each turn. The winner is the player with the most points, and they come from. Many sources keep an eye out for the symbol, deck building. You start the game with six basic cards, but can buy better ones

 Can be revisited, then move the staff and refresh the card row then redraw to five cards. It is now the next turn. Why would you like this game lost rounds of arnak? Does a lot of things well, but i think the key strength of the design is that you get 25 cards across 5 turns and absolutely have to maximize how you use them. So if you want a game that has a lot of decision making and a comparatively short time frame, i'd consider picking it up the item and artifact decks contain a lot of fun cards and tricks

Started with Star Realms, now I really enjoy deck building games.

This is one of the newest addictions in my house. we love the various strategies involved and the pacing can feel frantic as you rush to outscore your opponent. Beautiful board and components. My only gripe is when I was looking for this game it was sold out from every major retailer, including amazon

Amazing game, but I fell for the price gouge

 Wait what yeah see by not overcoming it and running away you'll, be losing that potential guardian payout and also getting a single negative point in a little added deck. Bloat, but you'll be saving a bunch of resources to use somewhere else, namely the research track. Oh see, what's going on with juggling priorities here, plus there's usually an abundance of ways to permanently remove or exile cards from your deck and or neck. So getting a little fear is not that frightening

 How much of each should i do and how should i time my actions of each let's deep dive with the exploring, which is a fun conundrum, because it costs one of your two workers and has random outcomes? Timing exploration within a round is tricky too, where your first worker could explore a ruin, but then you will miss out on grabbing other things like certain valuable other spaces on the board or spaying, an action for research to nab, first comer bonuses. But then, by exploring early you're guaranteed points from the idols that come with that explored area and giving you time that is the rest of the round to react to the guardian requirements. If you delay exploring and have your second worker explore now you have the flexibility to have your first worker, initially get very good locations on the board or shoot up research before opponents. But then you might not have the flexibility to react to that guardian, because now your second and final worker is placed players can constantly ponder the timing on moving up the research track or to just save those resources for overcoming guardians or players can go screw it

 I just don't have to do an insane amount of planning in arnac, because you have to continually adapt and that lets me eventually settle on a strategy instead of spending the first couple of rounds stressing out and just trying to go crazy on planning something out. Like a guy project, while those steps and planning and guide project are madly satisfying when they do pan out, i'm not always game for that amount of thinking, and also i don't like to wait for others in multiplayer to do all that planning on their end. So yeah monster runs arneck also conveniently hits this sweet spot for me in downtime in a euro where, since the game is not that complex, others don't think too hard, and i'm just pleased looking at the board anyways, so i don't mind waiting for me. Arnek was just about as enjoyable multiplayer as it was single player and wow

 Every turn you'll have two workers uh, but that's just the start, because you also have a hand of five cards you draw from your deck. You'Ll take turns of doing one action each you can do an action to play a card from your hand and place a worker in the corresponding color location huh. Where have we seen this before, and then you just get that locations thing where arnac starts to differ from say dune imperium is that it's not only doing this work replacement tied to card thing see if you want to get your card's actual printed ability you can Play it by itself as an action for the turn without spinning a worker. Another action you can do is the explore some new ruins on the island

I have the funds to buy either game, they both look like games I'd thoroughly enjoy, and I love they way they both use hybrid mechanics so effectively. They both have great replay value, gorgeous art, solo modes, and many other things I'm looking for. I'm so torn between them, and so far the only real downside of **Dwellings of Eldervale** is that it costs $100, whereas **Lost Ruins of Arnak** costs $60.

If you were in my shoes, which would you pick and why?

Dwellings of Eldervale or Lost Ruins of Arnak?

Game seemed used or Terribly packaged

 It is a challenge to do everything optimally. The theme and artwork make the whole process more enjoyable. I think you can also tone back the heavy thinking and enjoy the journey as well.  And lastly, the price and value

 If you miscalculate, you are left behind usually and feel meh. Hopefully you have forgiving playmates. (example: exploring new locations gives you blue tokens, and those tokens can help you get resources, and then you can use those resources to move up the research track before my opponent, which will then get me a bonus resource, and I can use that bonus resources to explore a new location again, get those blue tokens again, and then use those resources to go up the research track.
