Twice last season on powder days my binding released while skiing and on one occasion had to spend probably an hour looking for the ski before I found it. I have Marker Griffon and ski with them on 13. I am 6'9", 270lb and can put a lot of force into the ski. In the case where it released and took forever to find, I believe I hit a tree root or something which caused the release.

The next two days is where they really shined, once everything was skied up I spent my time charging crud. My lord these skis busted through anything and gave me the confidence to rip without hesitation and the 94 underfoot felt so solid especially when landing any air.

In my very experienced opinion, the only demo bindings I would trust on a park ski are the marker griffon/Jester. Every other demo binding out there is pure hot garbage in my personal opinion, due to a lack of downward/upward elasticity in the heel. Only pivots/PX series from look/rossignol, and the Royal bindings from marker have a spring that rotates as the heel piece engages.

My other set has Marker Griffon bindings. I like em. But I’m conscious of safety on these given the type of skiing I’ll be doing on them. I used to have Look Pivot bindings on an old set of skis.
