Marshall Uxbridge Voice Review

It sounds good and looks good, but some things about it are not great. The setup was not super simple. This was a gift for my wife and she couldn’t get it set up without my help. The Marshall app AND the Alexa App are both required, not optional

Alexa is actually linked through the Marshall App which was a little confusing because the setup didn’t happen for me seamlessly

This could have/should have been an all in one solution for me, but it’s not perfect for my needs. Can we get some good firmware updates Marshall? Amazon - are you preventing the use of Apple Music? Come on! Marshall - Can we get this Bluetooth tightened up?

You're probably looking at this bluetooth speaker the same way I did -the namesake, the aesthetics and, well, the namesake. Let me save you some trouble -if aesthetics is at the top of your list, then it's a pretty cool looking bluetooth speaker. Some of the others look a bit cheap and clunky so I get it. I personally wanted something that would look nice on my desk and could play loud a- music with above average sound quality while I'm doing chores

 It's too, too much work for what it is. I purchased a $49 bluetooth speaker from Ikea that blows this sucker away in both sound quality and user convenience. I have to say overall I am disappointed in how much of a pain this thing is. It should not have to be this complicated

The Good, The Bad and the F-Ugly

My wife loves her music in the shower, so when her last speaker started to have issues she told me to start looking for something with an even bigger sound. The hunt didn't go far because I received one of those random email from Yahoo that stated something like "The 3 Best Devices on Amazon that you Absolutely Wouldn't Believe for less than $250" and in that article was an absolutely beautiful Marshall speaker. I've been around Marshall guitar amps for a long time, growing up around church musicians, and love their sound and clarity. I was hoping this speaker's sound would deliver on the Marshall name

Only works when plugged in!

Can't recommend this speaker enough. Though it has a smaller size, the sound quality is no less than other Marshall speakers. I think it's a great price point for a high quality product. I keep mine on my nightstand, it looks great and doesn't take up a lot of space

The speaker makes a brake sound after playing for couple hours, and lose his connection, I contacted the manufactured and they tested the product and replaced, the second product is having the same problem. I ended replacing this two times and the problem persists.

Great speaker, but hard to install

To summarize my review this is not an Alexa Speaker. It is a Bluetooth speaker with good sound quality that also uses the Alexa SDK so Amazon music works too (because it’s required) The extent of its Alexa functionality is utilizing Amazon’s internal intents (weather, time, etc) and executing routines. Nothing more.  For a detailed explanation: I have pros and cons

 If you read up on the SDK, they were just greedy and lazy. Additional features carry guidelines and requirements from Amazon so Marshall did the absolute minimum they had to so they could put the Alexa branding on their products.  Pros: #1: The Bluetooth connectivity worked without issue for me. To be fair, I didn’t go far from the device with my iPhone 13 pro max

Overall Thoughts I am already obsessed with my Uxbridge Voice speaker. Overall, I think this is a great speaker and would recommend to anyone looking to upgrade the sound in their home. This is also a great secondary speaker for people looking to take advantage of multi-room sound.  Impressive for it's size The Uxbridge's small compact design makes fits perfectly in my kitchen

 I already own the Acton II with Alexa support and was super excited to add Uxbridge to my collection. I included a picture so you can compare the size.  Sound Quality The sound quality meets the high quality standard that I expect from Marshall speakers. I was really surprised at how loud this little speaker can get! It's powerful enough to fill my entire studio apartment with sound
