Grill works as advertised - the app does not.

I was looking at buying a drum barrel smoker when I came across this. I was excited about the ease of use with the temperature controller provided. It was also cheaper and I like the idea and ease of being able to fire it up quickly if I wanted to just make burgers one weekend. The reviews I read were generally quite positive and the only negatives seemed to be the app and those who received damage units

A little disappointed

Peeling paint throughout charcoal tower. Tower needs an additional foot in length, Seals coming out of the channels they are supposed to exist within, “OPEN” displayed when lid is shut, heat plenum/distribution system maybe has 5-10 more cooks before the rust starts truly pitting through the metal.

I get it, takes money to make these things, and quality supplies have to be passed onto the customer. But, speaking for me and probably a good percentage of the people who “took the plunge” on this unit, would be shocked if I get more than one season out of this grill. Also, we probably wouldn't have thought twice to ante up another couple/few hundred More dollars to get a grill that would stand the test of time and not fall apart so quickly.

.their build quality has always been less than stellar. Yet, this product checked a lot of boxes for me so I decided to give them a shot. (Usually would've been a hard pass but a Wifi/BT temp controlled gravity-fed charcoal cooker was very intriguing

How well does it work?: In general - pretty darn good. Because it does such a good job regulating the temperature via the fans, it's hard to mess up on this. It blows through fuel quicker than I'm used to, but that's because its fans are adding oxygen at almost all times, as opposed to ceramic smokers that sort of smolder slowly. Worth it for the ease of use

 Dump in the charcoal into the hopper and light via a firestarter. Turn on the desired temp and time digitally and the fans kick in and do the rest. When it needs more fuel, you can dump it in via the top of the hopper. This alone is a gigantic improvement over traditional smokers

 It blows through fuel quicker than I'm used to, but that's because its fans are adding oxygen at almost all times, as opposed to ceramic smokers that sort of smolder slowly. Worth it for the ease of use. I did a 6 hour cook set at 225 and I never saw it get below 217 or above 235.

An awesome, BIG smoker/grill & a couple of worries
