 We have a few mandolins here, but we don't have any that do the julienne cuts and stuff - and this comes with one two: three four: five blades, the pusher, the food holder, an adjustable slicer, which we haven't set up on this uh aluminum. I don't know four quart three quart uh bolt and you can see here that the blade this blade has never been used. Now, when i tried to take off the bottom, i cut myself, this is really hard to get off, so you got to be careful if you get one of these, but once you pull this off, you can see this can be cleaned in here, but there's blades That pop up, let me see if i can get this close enough, you can see see that do you see the blades they pop up and these are very sharp and then your pusher slider, slides right through even when the blades are up without hitting it, and You can change these blades out, so this is a really nice thing to have. If your gardener and canner a nice mandolin make sure you put these back down and you're not using them, they will cut you now

 The the most exciting thing about this is the crinkle cut, because we're going to make some pickles and we love that crinkle cut that you can put on uh, hamburgers and stuff. So we're going to cut some of our cucumbers up and make some crinkle cut. Pickles. Now uh two things you want to do before you can cleanliness is close to canning-ness when you're talking about canning

 I guess does make it a little tougher see and that one's smashed, but one malfunction we'll see how easy it is to clean, and i really wanted to test out the julianne. But we'll have to do that later and uh i'll show you what that looks. Like all right, so we're gon na put the big blades up and uh set this down on our board and we're going to see what the julianne does to this zucchini. So there you go zucchini french, fries, [ Applause, ] and here we'll do a few on the smaller blades

 This does have an adjustment here and there's cutouts, so it can sit on multiple bowls sizes and also this leg, and this leg. Um is the perfect height with a little bit of a downward degree on this bowl, and it seems like it's going to be very sturdy and secure, which is something you really want along with using this, because a lot of times you want to do it by Hand it tips over and you take off a chunk of your finger, so you don't want that. This is going to work really well. Holding things down and uh should work really good, we're going to give it a test, a taste, a taste we're going to give it a test here in a little bit

 I bought a new air fryer/oven combo and I wanted to make sweet potato fries and potato chips so I needed the mandolin. I read all the reviews, and while I wasn't completely sold any of them, this one seemed to check the most boxes.  So what happened? I peeled a sweet potato, increased the width of the slice, and brought the julienne blades up. My first problem was that to cut the potato into fries you have to slice it lengthwise, but the the slicing guard doesn't work on long items - it would have worked for potato chips but not French fries

 I dropped the blade and went to push the potato through and the julienne blades popped back up and my palm went through it. After putting a pressure bandage on to try to get it to stop bleeding I went back to figure out what happened, I was mostly mad because I tend to get hurt a lot because my brain is always three steps in front of what I'm doing but I purposely made sure I dropped the blades so I wouldn't get hurt!! I played with the knob and found that although you can turn it in both directions it only locks in when turned in one direction! You have to hear it snap back in. So I bought it mostly too make fries and the blades aren't sharp enough to slice a potato but they are sharp enough to slice skin!

 So I was angling the slicing guard so I could at least use it to push the potato down; however, I found that it was nearly impossible to slice the potato, I guess the potato is too hard?? So, I got it to go through twice with great difficulty, the third time it was stuck. So I lifted the potato up slightly so I could drop the julienne blades to get the potato out without cutting myself. Next thing I know I'm cut and bleeding all over the place.  Here's the problem, please if you read nothing else, at least READ MY WARNING!!! The knob to turn the julienne blades turn in either direction

 So you don't have to store a bunch of blades, my other one. I had to store a ton of blades, so that comes out a little lemon, zester, so cool, it's very low profile. It'S going to fit in my cabinet really well, because i don't have much space, so i love it. I think i love it

 However, if you use produce small enough to fit into the handle grip, this shouldn't be a problem. Pros: Sharp blades, quite a few different blade options, which will give you a few different styles of slices to choose from, and a nice plastic case to store the extra blades in. Cons: Unless the food item is small enough to fit inside the center handle hole- most of the apples/potatoes i used were too big- it can have a hard time properly holding on to bigger food items as you slide it. Bigger circumfrance food items cause the slider rails to free float as you slide the produce back and forth until it gets low enough to connect, and the metal prongs that should grip the food don't extend far enough to properly grip the bigger food in place, which can be dangerous & cause the food to tear or be damaged

 Let'S see the pieces that came out super thin slices. I really like that all right, so that's the slicer there's the bottom of it. I, like the safety feature that it has for this right here. I also like the grip that you have on your slice

 I, like that main part of this, is this one we're going to take the plastic protective seal off? This is the slicer right here which this comes off and you can change that with the other ones that I was showing you so we're going to do. Is we're going to test it with an apple and try to slice the Apple and see how well that works? So this here is to get whatever you're using to slice down, see it off. Use your fingers, it's great for safety. I also noticed on here

Mueller V-Pro 5 Blade Mandoline Slicer

I bought this because I have a wrist injury and therefore have problems slicing veggies or fruits for salads. Product came as expected, my only issue is that the design is not for easy use. Blades aren’t as sharp as I want them to, I had to contact customer service and they sent me new set of blades but unfortunately it’s still not as sharp as I would want it to, the cuts aren’t clean so I had to use a blade sharpener. As for the design, the triangular part in the middle depresses when you slice through it which makes it easier to cut your own fingers

Sprang for a seemingly better mandoline when I bought this unit. However, the guard rides far above the blades, meaning 1/2" to 3/4" of the vegetable is wasted. Guard design is incredibly clumsy and prone to rocking; when it does so, whatever you are trying to process comes out of the guard and you slice air. Giving the unit 2 stars for durability because I believe it will bounce back, unharmed, when I slam it to the ground

 Very dissatisfied and wish I had saved my money!  EDIT: 4 December - I just had a very pleasant conversation with the Seller, and we determined that the product I received may possibly have been defective (a rarity, as Mueller is a highly-rated company). While *not* happy with the Mandoline, THE SELLER IS ABSOLUTELY TOP-NOTCH, passionately dedicated to matching great products with great customers. Bottom line: The Seller quickly made *everything* right and I *do*, most certainly, recommend her business!
