 It's aesthetically sporty There's again a great build quality and a durability. So all of that's there so the real question then becomes What about the app and is the data and the metrics that the device is collecting is that usable and helpful to the user? So as soon as you open up the app it asks you to set up a profile Connect to your device and then do a workout now the reason for the workout is because of a third-party app issue Which I'll get to later overall It was super easy to set up a profile and connect my phone to the fuse now once your app is connected to the fuse Essentially the app becomes a controller helping you set up the device and customize the way that you see data on the device You can set up the device for two different kinds of modes One is called a zone alert mode and the other one is called a training zone mode now essentially what those different modes are Is that you assign different beats per minute your heart to one of the different many LED colors? So you can have up to five colors or three colors and that's the difference between the two modes if you click on any Of those modes it will allow you to assign What beat per minute you want to the different LED now it sets it up basically for you depending on your age and weight and Sex but you can adjust the beats per minute for the different target zones And then those LEDs will light up on the band as you're working out to tell you if you're in the zone or not So back out at your main setup screen again. You can customize what different information you're going to see on the device What they're calling it a screen, but it's just an LED display so you can see under device settings You can customize what information you would see during a workout you can customize what information you'll see When you're just in all-day mode when you're not working out So this screen for example is the workout screen where you can customize depending on what you're doing What you would see you can select from their preset running biking or hiking or you can select Option to do custom screens, which is what I did and I set it up so that when I'm working out all I see are calories Distance steps and the time I've been working out now It's worth noting that Meo uses this app for both the meo alpha and the meo fuse and I think there's some other products as well But here's why it's worth mentioning the data collected on the meo alpha not the fuse the alpha was viewable on the app So you could see things like daily activities. You could see exercises and workouts for the week And you know if your goals have been reached and whatnot and then you got you know Specific workout sessions that you can break down and see what your heart rate was how many calories you've burned and so on and so forth Those screens that I've just showed you are not Viewable yet at least for the meo fuse

I threw at it build quality of the device is fantastic I'm sure it can take pretty much whatever you throw at it since it doesn't have a glass screen It's going to be very durable for any of the you know, weightlifting or CrossFit styled exercises Obviously since it's waterproof you could wear this into the shower or even take it with you swimming in the pool Even tight against the wrist the device is very comfortable

 You have to use a third-party app To compile and extrapolate the data from the device So meo provides a list of apps on their website third-party apps that are compatible with the fuse So that way you can extrapolate the data in a usable way And so they they have different apps that they suggest for those that are, you know Weightlifters are just all-around fitness enthusiasts for runners joggers and for cyclists So on one hand, it's cool that you can you know Use a third-party app that maybe you're already familiar with and enjoy using to view the data that the meo fuse collects But I also felt that it's kind of sloppy I felt that meo should have provided out of the box and an ability to Show users all of the data and metrics collected In a native app without having to go with a third-party source So in the meantime until meo can update their app in order to view the data collected on the device You'll have to use a third-party app and the meo app itself will just act as a controller so you can Change the settings and viewable viewable information on the device while you're using it now in spite of my frustrations with the app I still have to say that I really like this device. It's durable It's accurate and it's comfortable and you know what? What else could you want from a fitness tracker? I'm willing to you know Try out third-party apps and find one that I like in order to use this device You can pick it up on the meo website or Amazon or Best Buy for 150 bucks You can choose from either red or blue highlights again I've already said this on my preview of the device But the only other thing that I wish that it had was sleep tracking For some of you that may not be a necessary Function that you want and for others of you, maybe that's you know, you're hill to die on but if you're looking for something That is comfortable accurate and durable. Mio Fuse - Complete Hands On Review

 I didn't think it was too clumsy. I'm returning it and switching to an Apple Watch where I know my pulse gets taken at regular intervals throughout the day.

 The heart monitor, which was my main interest, is not precise and does not log the data as I desired, however, as a workout device maybe this could work ok. I liked the overal look and feel.  One of the biggest benefits, this band has been rated at 3 ATM. After consulting with Mio, they did confirm you can go swimming with this, now wearing this in the shower and submerging this underwater has posed no issues or problems whatsoever. Now moving onto the display, the Fuse utilizes red LED lights, pretty simplistic, and they work very well though in both low light and as well when you're running outdoors in bright light situations. First up is the time being displayed, with calories burned next

 Now if you look closely at my chart, the first run was a straight 10 minutes, no resting, and when at scale, the deviation is just at 3 heartbeats on average. For the most part, both the Mio fuse and the chest heart rate monitor did very well and stayed very close together. On another run, I attempted to simulate sports situations, like in baseball when you run to the base and then you basically start resting and just standing there, or when you're playing tennis after you score, you basically return back to your side and just rest for those few moments before you serve again. Your heart rate basically slows down a bit, and then you're back into the game

 Though the next run was more in stride and more calming, and both the chest strap and the fuse acted within reason. And then last year, the last run, I performed exerting as much energy as I could, and again you can see that deviation once again. So indeed from my quick test, it shows during vigorous climbs of heart rates, the fuse appears to be behind a bit when I make my heart rate climb a little too fast. But overall, for gradual movements, runners in this case, this thing appears to be highly accurate, more so than other bands that I've tested so far on my channel

For some people, a chest heart rate monitor may be uncomfortable, and the company Mio Global, like many other companies as well, Fitbit, Microsoft, and hopefully Jawbone Tune, recently offered heart rate tracking right on their wrist instead. Mio was nice enough to reach out and loan me one of their newer bans, the Fuse here, which does heart rate tracking, but for the company, it is the first daily activity tracker being offered

Works well but doesn't track steps very well compared to others I have used. It only show about 3k steps a day compared to 15k I would get previously with a Fitbit or Jarv. Customer service exchanged it for me without a problem but I have the same results with a new one.  Also the touch buttons are unresponsive when held upside down

At first this doesn't sound like a problem but if your trying to take it ...

 We just wish that there was different colors to choose from besides red. Secondly, you have the heart rate sensor on its underside. Now, it's something that's enabled only when you're doing workout. It doesn't offer real-time tracking, like what you get with the Fitbit Surge, or even the Basis Peak, so this is most effective when you're using it in a workout session

 Now, other trackers out there have real time, so it's always constantly on to get a really good, accurate reading, but this is primarily meant to be used with workouts. Now, what I like about the workout mode is that you'll have this, another LED lighting up here, and so if you're working out and you're increasing your heart rate, it'll change colors accordingly, so you know where you're at. On top of that, you'll also feel some vibrations to indicate your heart rate level. In order to make use of the information that it gathers, you gotta download the Mio Go app, which is available for Android and iOS

 They claim to get six to seven days, and we did get just that, around six days, at least, which is pretty good, considering that you don't have to constantly charge it all the time. For $50 to pick up, the Mio Fuse is priced similarly to many other fitness trackers in its class, so that means the Fitbit Charge HR. Now, go with it if you really prefer the design style. It definitely captures our attention, especially with the LED display

Great Device--poor Applications

 It's handy and easily connected with the device and it keeps working thanks to the installed inner magnets. The company claims that working non-stop the battery lasts 7-10 hours. Our bracelet survived 9.5 hours, an excellent result

 MioFuse is a device which combines tracker functions for everyday physical activities with a heart rate monitor that helps a lot in a cardio workout. It has its pros and cons. Let's start with pluses. First, its display and simple three-button design

 Push it one more time, your training has started. The bracelet shows your pulse at the moment and the LED shows you what cardio zone you're in. As you pass another cardio zone, the sensor vibrates. It's a sign you should either pick up the pace or slow it down

 The back side has a sensor that measures the heart rate and charging terminals. By the way, Mio's heart rate sensor is unique and it allows you to have the most exact calculations during intense workouts. You just need to put it on a bit higher than your wrist and tighten it. MioFuse is charged with a USB cable through a docking station

 Equally I've done two hour bike rides and sadly sometimes it's not. But overall very good device, it's a first generation for this sort of thing and I think it's only going to get better. So overall probably 7, 8 out of 10. So there's a bit of room for improvement but you know, it's a good bit of kit

 So, I was thinking about getting a heart rate monitor for a while but I didn't want one that was kind of a chest strap based one. And I saw the Mio range of a heart rate monitor trackers and thought I'd take a punt. They do several, they do one which is literally just a heart rate tracking band. I went for the one that's also got some watch functionality on it as well

 I tend to charge it from a plug-in wall-based charger and this ends up kind of dangling in mid-air. There is a slightly more serious flaw I'd like to point out and that is sometimes it doesn't pick up your heart rate correctly. You can see on here it's got my heart rate down in the 50s, should be up in the 100s because it's clearly not on my wrist properly. So that can happen

 It's really clever the way it uses the kind of optical sensing of your blood flow to do the heart rate and when you've got it in the right place on your wrist it works well. It's pretty light, battery life's good, I've done 12 hour bike rides with this and it's survived. Equally I've done two hour bike rides and sadly sometimes it's not. But overall very good device, it's a first generation for this sort of thing and I think it's only going to get better
