The Moon Lence Backpacking Chair is a value pick that outperforms its price point. It has a well-defined bucket seat that makes it lounge-worthy but not so deep that it's hard to get out of it. The square base is also stable enough that we weren't fearful of tipping over, and we appreciate the side pockets for phone and sunglasses storage. In terms of out-of-case performance, it stacks up well for its price point. 
Having said that, we have some questions about its longevity. The seat fabric is stiff, and over time, this led to several pressure points. Attaching the seat fabric to the aluminum frame also takes a little finessing. Additionally, this chair is really gangly. It has a lot of short tube segments, and the legs are especially challenging to fold up and pack away. Having said that, for those on a budget, this chair is a solid pick for more casual adventures.

Higher Rating But Broke on Second Use

Comfort is nice, but its hard to get back into the carrier. I bought the taller version but it doesn't seem like that what I received. It feels very short and looks like the picture of the short one even though I wanted a full size one. Its a little off balance when not being sat in, but not wobbly when being used

  UPDATE: After only a handful of uses the seat has ripped on the seam where the mesh meets the seat. Such a huge bummer.

 I purchased this chair and an REI chair for $60 (on sale from $99). The REI chair is 1lb and very compact but not as sturdy in the structure or the seat material in comparison. We do two types of backpacking: family trips with young children where we pack in only 4-6 miles on easy trails, and adult trips where we hike 10-14 miles a day with lots of elevation gain. I would recommend this chair for a short, family style backpacking trip but not for a serious backpacking trip where every ounce makes a big difference

This chair weighs 2lb but is the sturdiest backpacking chair I have seen. It is super easy to set up, it practically sets itself up when you open it. Closing it is a bit more tricky because the legs want to pop back open while you’re trying to fold them all in. I liked this chair enough that I purchased a second one and we use them while camping for our two kids

Great chair for price, a bit heavy for backpacking

 It held up great for the first two days, but on the third day one of the legs randomly gave out on me. It wasn't a huge deal because I was able to get it fixed, but initially the plastic coupler seemed to be tweaked in an odd way. I'd highly recommend you use this on the flattest terrain possible and make sure the ground is hard enough that the legs don't sink into the ground, cause once this thing starts tipping you'll end up going over with it. As long as you are kind of careful about where you set it, you'll be in good shape

When these are put together, I love them! They are super light & comfortable! They are small, but you sink right into them and they almost hug you & they come to a perfect height in your back (right on shoulder blades). Comfort is 10/10! They are sturdy. However, one of the bars, will dislocate if you sit on it on uneven terrain. Super easy to put together, just make sure they are all tightly set
