 The only thing is, this thing is HUGE. It's also harder than my regular pillow. I'm still hoping it will soften up! The hardness took some getting used to. Also, the front part of the pillow is kind of not useful for me right now

Comfort U - still undecided if I like it

Not comfortable enough for $100

I bought this pillow seeing the sleek "U" design and 2 sides to have to support my knees for either direction I turned, but was disappointed that it is not a true "U" shape, but rather one very long straight pillow. Imagine taking a straight pillow and folding it in half trying to make it a smooth U, it just doesn't work. So at the "self folded" area it is rather bulky and not smooth. So if you think it will be a molded shape like the picture it is not

 Her baby is 2 now, yet she still uses her pillow as she was rear ended at 20 years old and has lower back pain often even yet from that accident.. The only problem is that her husband dislikes the big body pillow in the bed, as he can't snuggle up close to her as much as he'd like and it does take up a good amount of space, but then they have only a double bed. But they plan to get a queen or king when they move so it will be less of an issue then I'm sure

 To give you an idea about its length, I took some pictures of the pillow lying on my queen-sized bed. It reaches to about 2/3 of the length of the bed.  Second, for skinny women, this pillow is pretty tall, and the space between the two sides is pretty large, and cannot really provide neither back nor belly support. No matter how hard I tried to stuff one side of the U under by belly, it's way to big

 He didn't complain because he'd rather me sleeping well than anything else, but I do think that it was uncomfortable for him.  Four, it's not really that easy to turn sides "inside" the U. I decided to get a U-shaped pillow because it seemed that it would be difficult to transfer the one-side pillow with me every time I want to change sides. Well, it's not really that easy to change sides in this case either

  Finally, I did not know where to put my arm! It wasn't comfortable to keep my arm "inside" the U, along my body. It was even worse when I tried to stick it under one of the arms of the U, because then not only my arm would get very hot, but the weight of the pillow would make it fall asleep.  To conclude, I returned it. So nice of Amazon to provide the option of free returns!

Bulky and not long enough for tall women

 Even once I got this pillow it took time, but now at 29 weeks I am on my sides all the time. I think that once baby gets heavy you just naturally get there. Sadly, I am having hip pain as many pregnant women do, so sleeping on my sides is not super great, I have to switch sides several times a night and still the pain persists sometimes. I can't even imagine without this pillow! Before this I had pillows that kept making it to the floor

Okay, so I've had this pillow now for quite a long while. I am now 29 weeks pregnant, here is my assessment:  Super comfy/plump, but head, like all of this type of pillow, collapses a bit in the center. Unfortunately, unlike noted by a few people, this is 1 long pillow so you can't take it apart really. I have found that you can sort of fluff the center a bit by pulling/poking at it from the sides, etc, but overall, longevity-wise, I'd say the head part ends up collapsing more than it should

Overall I like it, has a few issues...

For me, comfort is more important than occasional back sleeping. For my first pregnancy, I did not have pregnancy pillow and relied on two separate body pillows on each side. With that I also ended up on my back at times

 Cons: * This pillow does not prevent you from back sleeping after you fall asleep. I can prop myself nicely on my side while I am awake but after I fall sleep the legs of the U of the pillow drifts apart from each other and you can very well end up on your back. An additional benefit is that it keeps us quite warm at night, though this could be a downside for ladies who get too warm when they sleep.  Now for the negatives: I prefer down to synthetic material in terms of feel and comfort, but also suffer from allergies (not to mention financial constraints), so opted for this one. This material is very stiff, which is great for keeping you in alignment, but it also means your arm falls asleep when placed underneath the pillow and that you have to reshape the pillow periodically when material bunches up in the wrong places

 It only gets harder to sleep as the pregnancy progresses and a pillow like this keeps you from "dolphin flopping" as my husband likes to say. :)

  Now for the negatives: I prefer down to synthetic material in terms of feel and comfort, but also suffer from allergies (not to mention financial constraints), so opted for this one. This material is very stiff, which is great for keeping you in alignment, but it also means your arm falls asleep when placed underneath the pillow and that you have to reshape the pillow periodically when material bunches up in the wrong places. The only other complaint I have is that the pillow case, while durable, is not very soft. I'm a bit sensitive, so this might not bother others, but I do prefer 100% cotton to polyester for the softness

Idiosyncratic reasons for 4 stars

 Further, you will need an extra pillow to support the 'up-side' arm (in the picture it would be her right arm). Basically, to learn how to pad yourself for side sleeping, do a google search on 'lateral position surgery' and note that they put a pad in the armpit area of the down side (your side laying on the mattress), a pad under the forearm of the down arm, pads between the knees, and a support for the 'up' arm (the arm NOT laying on the mattress) to keep your up shoulder (in the picture, her right shoulder) from sliding forward causing chest compression and poor breathing in your sleep.  This pillow is only one size, but it works for me at 5'8" and 170 or so. Also as advertised, it's bulky, so don't think you can pull bedsheets over this when making the bed

How to correctly use this pillow: NOT like the picture

 I'm not pregnant but I need a great back support due to some of my disabilities. As I said before he died I used was not a thing special. It was from Amazon and was under $3 and was technically not meant for a polyester over 60% and cotton mix pillow case. The guide took well enough as you can see in the photos

Wish the pillow itself was sown better, as I will need to surge the Edge's better as I know it will come undone eventually either with you or washing. Still if you get the $60 used good shaped option it is worth serging the edges yourself when it's needed. The price of materials Malone comes to about $60, easier to get a premade pillow and then reinforce the seams. Wish for the full price they would make a higher quality pillow

To save $21 for a new colored pillowcase as you can see in my photos I bought denim dye in tie dyed my white pillowcase that came with my pillow. White pillowcases are not a good idea as it will show every little bit of drool or makeup stains

Like many moms, I experienced back pain during my pregnancy. I checked out the maternity pillows sold in retail outlets and was not impressed with the quality or the price. While this pillow is a good bit more expensive than what I found in stores it was absolutely worth it.  The only draw back is that it takes up a lot of space
