Motu M4

I’ve used this and a Shure SM57 next to each other and the similarities in quality was astounding. For either vocals and podcast/streaming, the $100 SM57 is a great pick if you like dynamic mics and don’t wanna break the bank on the SM7B. Also make sure your interface has a decent pre amp if you want it to get enough gain for your use case. My Motu M4 will give dynamic mics enough power on its own, but using a dedicated pre like a Cloudlifter or Art Pro MPA will get you much better results.

That includes MIDI, Audio, and Live Instrument recording and arrangement off my MOTU M4. Every time I've gone with Ubuntu variants, there's always been a show stopping bug that's forced me to use one of Apple's or Microsoft's fine products to finish what I'm trying to accomplish. JACK and ALSA are erratic on a good day, and retroactively installing Pipewire on top of them caused the jack daemon to crash irreproducibly.

Keep in mind you will never be able to get similar soundstage as normal headphones with IEM’s. Also you don’t need a dac. I use a Motu M4, it makes a difference only because I had a lot of interference to begin with.
