 Let's go over some cons. So, the keys are a little bit of a grease magnet when it comes to either touching your face or if you've eaten and you might want to give them a wipe after if you do any of those things. The cable does kink quite easily, the USB only option is a bit restrictive and the fact that you can't remove the cable. There's no water resistance and that pretty much is it, that's all the cons I could really find

 The keys feel good to type on, maybe a tad on the slippery side for some of you, but I didn't have any issues there myself. The keys themselves are low profile KALT mechanical switches, and they are really responsive. I guess this is due to the fact that there is less distance between the switch and the operating point, making that response time a little bit quicker. The switches feel quite firm in comparison to some of the others I have used before, and I found myself feeling the need to type maybe a little bit harder than usual, but I quickly did get used to this, and to be honest, I did quite like it

 No eating, no touching your face or anything like that, and obviously you can wipe it off, but who wants to be doing that all the time? Underneath we have a nice clean, uncluttered bottom with some flip out feet that have rubber edging and three separate rubber pads to prevent slippage, which seem to work really well in my opinion. When plugged in, this is when the keyboard really comes to life. The RGB is really strong and really bright. They look great through the keys, and around them too due to that floating design that you can see here

 You get extra control and alt keys with this keyboard, and they are convex, unlike the standard keys that come attached to the keyboard, which are concave. I thought this was a nice gesture, and maybe nothing more than a bit of a gimmick when I first saw them, but honestly I do really like the feel of the convex keys much more than the concave keys that come with the keyboard. You can control RGB, colour, speed, direction, modes and brightness. You can lock or unlock the Windows key and let us not forget the media shortcuts, so previous, next track, play, pause, stop, track, volume up, volume down and mute

Switches are very stiff and not very responsive. Need to use a surprising amount of force to actuate given they are low profile. Will keep as a backup keyboard but not good enough for daily use.

Today I have a special unboxing and this is the GK50 Low Profile Gaming Keyboard by MSI and they sent me this awesome keyboard and I'm very excited to take a look at it. So we're going to do the full unboxing. We're going to take a look at how it sounds, all the lighting effects, and how you can use their desktop application

Unboxing MSI Vigor GK50 Low Profile Gaming Keyboard 🐲  - UHD 4K -  🐲 Slim Sleek Stylish Stealthy!

I really loved this keyboard! It takes a bit to get used to the low profile sense but I love it. The only thing I hate is that there are no spare parts on the market. Due to the usage, The key *C* has began to disappear, I wanted to buy spare keys, but there are none. That's shameful

CAREFUL

 I keep my lighting effects on Whirlpool but there are a bunch of cool effects like radar, wave, ripple which fires out with each keystroke and an effect that reacts to your music like an equaliser. It's all very basic software compared to what you're usually greeted with from some of these gaming keyboard brands like Roccat for example. Now I liked the MSI Vigor GK50 gaming keyboard a lot, especially its size and lightweight design. Now sure it has a bit of flex to it but it wasn't a problem during my gaming sessions

 Even the indicator lights when you have the num lock or caps lock turned on are included in the overall lighting aesthetic of the keyboard. Now it's okay though, it does match my Corsair IQ stuff inside my tower quite nicely and the MSI GK50 even reacts to some games that are compatible with their Dragon Centre and Mystic light features. When I first plugged in the keyboard though, the lighting just went absolutely manic. The RGB windmill effect was so fast and I had to turn it down straight away in the Dragon Centre

 The switches need a little bit of force which bottoms out when pressing the keys, which I actually quite like, being low profile switches it means that the travel distance is minimal sitting at around 34mm. This along with the loud audible clickiness of the actual keystrokes gives me an indication that I'm actually hitting a key when I've got my headphones on and I'm in the thick of it on a battlefield. Typing on the keyboard took a bit of getting used to and touch typing on this keyboard makes a bit of a racket due to the clickiness of the keys. Playing quick games like Heroes of the Storm was great and the return rate of the hotkeys was very decent too

 I did find an issue with its flex though and yes, although on the box it says there is a metal bar right underneath the space bar just down here that is supposed to provide increased support and what not, I mean sure the keyboard doesn't slide around on your desk and it can sit firm in place and it doesn't move while you're bashing your way through skills or actions in game, but press that space bar too hard or any of the centre keys for that matter and you'll notice the frame flex, it's not huge nor can I see it breaking unless you are really trying to force it to bend, but it does happen now, I do blame the plastic build quality for this. The whole thing as you can see is fully RGB too which of course it is, it's gamery, it's gonna be RGB because all gamery stuff's RGB now. This keyboard has a wonderful feel with real keys. It is very responsive.  The font makes it a a bit hard to use. The font should bigger (50%) and use conventional characters

A brilliant product except for the font on the keycaps

 Most keycaps on keyboards are square shaped but these have a very unique look and vibe to them. Now this is a full size keyboard which is gonna have 104 keys total and it's also gonna have the number pad which makes it a full size keyboard. The keyboard is also a low profile build which means that this thing is gonna lay low on your desk. The height of the keyboard in total is gonna go up 46mm

If you do want a more ergonomic typing experience, the keyboard does have two legs on the back which are adjustable and these two legs have rubber grips so whether you have them propped up or propped down, there's gonna be a good gripping experience on your desk so that the keyboard won't be sliding around at all. Now in terms of comfort, you can see from the side of the keyboard that there is a little arc shape that gives this little slant which is gonna give you an overall better typing experience

 So if you actually pop a key open here with the keycap puller that was included, you can see that there are white mechanical key switches here that are in the low profile format. And whites are very similar to the blue key switches which are kind of loud and kind of clicky but the whites are a little bit different than the blues in the aspect that they're quieter and they're a little bit more firm so they're not gonna wobble as much when you're actually like pressing down on the key. It's gonna give you a more kind of polished and refined gripping experience. And I'm personally a bigger fan of white switches than the blue switches

 If you do want a more ergonomic typing experience, the keyboard does have two legs on the back which are adjustable and these two legs have rubber grips so whether you have them propped up or propped down, there's gonna be a good gripping experience on your desk so that the keyboard won't be sliding around at all. Now in terms of comfort, you can see from the side of the keyboard that there is a little arc shape that gives this little slant which is gonna give you an overall better typing experience. Now let's talk a little bit about the RGB lights on this keyboard. So there are some customization options you can do and that's gonna be the animation sequences so you can have this thing glow a steady color, various different patterns and there's gonna be 9 patterns in total

 There're also different colors you can choose from but I havent seen a way to specify a color range yet (such as having only cool or warm colors) but you can select from a handful of colors. The low-profile is also nice since I prefer it over the standard key cap heights I've tested in local stores. At first the font and sub-scripts on some of the keycaps looked awkward to me bit I ended getting used to them within a day, and it's really the feel that made my like this keyboard. I use this keyboard for writing papers and playing video games and it feels great

 The keys feel good to press on and the tactile switches make a nice click that is not too loud yet not too soft either. The LED RGB options are also fantastic, as there's multiple effects and modes you can have the keyboard on to make it more exciting to type. There're also different colors you can choose from but I havent seen a way to specify a color range yet (such as having only cool or warm colors) but you can select from a handful of colors. The low-profile is also nice since I prefer it over the standard key cap heights I've tested in local stores

Excellent Keyboard

 It's not plastic. The rest of the body is plastic. There's absolutely no deck flex at all in this, none whatsoever. It's really, really solidly built

 So in terms of controlling the LEDs, you can do it through the software, as I've mentioned before. But you can also use the keyboard itself with built in profiles and just basically switch in between them. You can use this. This is the function key, this MSI key here

 There's no flex whatsoever, which is probably due to that lovely brushed aluminium top plate that's on this. It's not a solid aluminium case and the bottom is plastic, but the top is made out of aluminium and it feels absolutely lovely. The keys feel really, really nice and typing experience and gaming experience feels really good, too. The RGB effects are there as well

 So if you're an overclocker for graphics, then you can get straight into that using the shortcut key on the keyboard. So overall, guys, I really, really like this keyboard. And if you're looking for a TKL, then I'd definitely consider this one. Obviously, you might have different choices and things like that

Everything about this keyboard is amazing to me, but there are a lot of differing desires when it comes to a keyboard, so it will ultimately depend on what you're after.  Do you want pretty lights and a sweet design? Got you right here. During the day I find I quite enjoy the mode that lights up wherever I press a key. Zoom zoom go the lights across the board and it's quite pleasing

 I'm finding I'm more accurate because of it, which overall makes me faster. While most might consider it a downside, I prefer the lack of handrest. The bigger keyboards with such a feature are too big for my setup and if my hand needs a rest it's fine just chilling on my desk. The built-in rests tend to just get in my way

For most people, larger size probably wouldn't be an issue, but because my hands are quite small it actually hurt to stretch and then press those big keys. This keyboard is the perfect size for me

 The bigger keyboards with such a feature are too big for my setup and if my hand needs a rest it's fine just chilling on my desk. The built-in rests tend to just get in my way.  Want something that feels good to type on? Heck yeah, this thing is great. The key presses feel very clicky and responsive
