 But I don't want to sell this thing short because I also thought it sounded incredible on the electric, the acoustic and on singing. And this is definitely going to remain in my mic arsenal for whenever I record music in the future. So yes, I know this is a very expensive microphone, but this hearkens back to what I said in the last review. Don't buy a microphone that does a bunch of things just mediocrely

 Greetings Earthlings, I'm back with a review of a go-to voiceover microphone. So today we're looking at this guy, the Neumann TLM103. And if you do want to pick this guy up, it'll set you back around $1100. I can't believe I spent that much money

 But I'll go ahead and throw some links down below in case you want to check it out. And for the majority of this review, I have the mic connected directly to the 2i2 second gen. Input gain set at around 10 o'clock or 1030. I'm not going to do any post-processing, EQ, compression, but I will likely boost it in post

 And then on the bottom, you'll find the XLR port. When it comes to the specs, this thing has a cardioid polar pattern, a frequency response of 20 hertz to 20 kilohertz, a sensitivity of approximately negative 33 decibels, an impedance of 50 ohms, a max SPL of 138 decibels, and a self noise of 7 dBA. That is so incredibly quiet. So now I'm spinning around the microphone to see what the off-axis coloration is at 90 degrees

Neumann TLM 103 Review Test

When I’m not mic’d up, I always push a lot more, because singing that soft feels tonally unbeautiful. But the level of thickness and clarity my Neumann gives my voice while I’m singing soft sounds so beautiful. Hearing it back so clearly in my headphones is the best monitor mix I’ve ever had for my voice, and it’s making me more solidified in my vocal confidence.

 For a couple seconds there was that desired, pristine sound, but then the recording froze and my laptop started making a horrible noise that would not go away without me clicking either Shutdown or Restart.  I honestly believe that this happened because of the high quality, but anyway, there can hardly be any arguing against the sound of this mic.  I want to give it 4 stars just because something about it seems superfluous, like it doesn't need to be this good. =D In the end, I ask myself not whether the mic was worth the money, but whether my voice is worth the mic! The answer that comes back to me is that something several hundreds of dollars less would probably be good enough for me

Quality so good it broke my PC

 That's also not really a con though. So this microphone is awesome. I love the Neumann TLM 103. It's my go-to workhorse microphone in my own home studio

 It helps your tracks cut through the mix just by itself. It is a sturdy build and that proximity effect really helps you beef up your sound if you want to summarize the cons again real quick. It's an $1,100 microphone. I think it's worth that though

 They did a great job putting this thing together. This feels like a quality microphone. They use some really sturdy materials on this thing. It's kind of freaking heavy and it is just a sturdy piece of equipment

 I love the Neumann TLM 103. It's my go-to workhorse microphone in my own home studio. What do you use in your home studio? What's your go-to microphone? I don't care if it's a thousand dollars. I don't care if it's $5,000

Neumann TLM 103 Review - What you NEED to know!

Take the Neumann TLM-103, throw in a quiet room and minimal processing and you get an absolutely pure and accurate sound. I thought about this purchase for a long time but the first time I used this mic I wished I had made the purchase a long time ago. Worth the hype and the price.

 I may boost the gain a little bit in post just to give myself some volume, but that's all I'm gonna do. There's gonna be no compression. No EQing nothing. This microphone is exactly what it sounds like out of the box

 But overall I think it sounds beautiful and will be really suited for anything you can throw at it here. I Am two inches from the microphone, Ten inches from the microphone, Two feet from the microphone, Four feet from the microphone and five feet from the microphone. Let's give it an old spin and see what it's like spinning it around. So here we are talking into the microphone

 So let's see what the noise sounds like. Here we are. Let's hit the we'll hit the microphone, arm, tap it, We'll tap the desk. We'll see how well the shock meant holds up

 I Can guarantee you that. So let's see what this microphone sounds like. playing some guitar and now let's see what it sounds like with an acoustic guitar. I'm gonna be playing my Gibson Les Paul for a Marshall DSL one head into a cabinet with a Celestion vintage 30

NEUMANN TLM 103 REVIEW! IS IT WORTH THE $$$$???

The voice over community seems to have a love-hate relationship with this mic, but a few fellow voice over artists I am friends with said this was one of the best. I bit the bullet and bought it. Wow! So clear and pure! With this and my RE27, I'm good to go.
