So far it is working okay but I have concerns if this is a brand new product or not. The box was definitely old, unsealed and in bad condition. And the wheels look like they have some wear already.

First impressions are good. Suction is good, pretty compact but not small, cord works well, its heavier then it looks but manageable, useful tools, and price wise I think it's worth it (paid$340 w/tax) although a lower price point would make it a much better buy. Tools friction fit together, hose is long enough and flexible, floortool is good on hardwood but takes more effort on rugs, I think it's relatively quiet with no high pitched whistle, and it rolls around easy. These are just my initial impressions, will update if warranted

I live in a Brooklyn apartment with all hard wood floors except for tile in the bathroom. I have nice stereo equipment that I’d really like to keep as dust free as possible and this place seems to generate dust constantly. 

My top picks are the Henry Xtra 160 as people like it a lot here or the Miele C1. 

I’ve also considered the cordless Henry- is it much less powerful than the Xtra 160? The outlets in my house are kind of in weird places so cordless could be nice, and it would be nice to vacuum my car every once in a while. 

Would consider sebo as well. Just want to get on top of the dust in this place and have the best experience while doing it.

Cordless Vacuum Purchase Advice! [AUS]

  Very happy with this purchase, this is a good value for this level of quality. Should last forever.

 It could easily be a lifetime appliance.  What I love about it:  Tremendous suction Clean exhaust air. I’ve had other HEPA vacuums, this one is worlds cleaner. Quiet

I researched the heck out of this purchase, I was trying to decide between a low end Miele and a SEBO, when I kept running into references to the Henry. It’s actually a light commercial vacuum that works well as a residential model. It could easily be a lifetime appliance.  What I love about it:  Tremendous suction Clean exhaust air

Downstairs I have hardwood throughout, as well as the stairs. Own a Husky so you know the issue I'm dealing with. Looking for something with strong suction, big enough to cut a nice swath, but small and light enough to hit the wood stairs. Something that really sucks from the side as well or can get the hair that lays right against baseboards. Would be handy to have a quick grab tube? to suck up hard to reach spots.

I have a Riccar bagged upright for the carpet upstairs, so I am not afraid to put out some cash for QUALITY.

Recommendations?

Best Vacuum for pet hair on hardwood?

 Just a simple, well made vacuum from the UK. Glad they sell them in the US! Also, extra attachments are easy to buy as they are a standard fit, unlike Miele, where you have to spend a fortune for their special attachment. Henry is easy to maneauver and store too.
