I got a used MSI Geforce GTX 970 in near perfect condition for $287. Not bad imo. One of the same cards on newegg is at least $600 to $700 easily. It's sufficient for what I need. Maybe try and find a used gpu.
Cyberpunk 2077.
Tried it out despite no new graphic card (it got delayed). But it was very playable with a geforce 970 and I have played it for more than 160 hours now.

Also no issues so far with screen. Just love it. I just need to wait for the RTX3080 and will be able to take full advantage of the monitor. Currently using GeForce 970
1st gen i7 870 with geforce 970. Still working. Oculus works on it. Cyberpunk works (with exe edit to disable some cpu instruction). Looking forward to more years with the old faithfull . Slightly worried mobo or psu will kick it.

**Nvidia GTX 970:** 3.5 GB of useable VRAM was annoying in a title or two, but just lowering texture resolution by one fixed performance issues. **AMD 5700 XT:** Massive driver problems the first 4 months. The card also ran damn hot (Repasted it twice, added additional thermal pads and undervolted, still not great). **Nvidia RTX 3080:** Really happy to be back to Nvidia, it just works, even if they are shady.

GTX 970 in 2021 - Dinosaur GPU Battles RTX 3060 and RX 6800
Given the possible age of a PC in which the GTX 970 would still sit, the lower-end models RTX 3060 or RX 6700 are rather recommended.
