 I'll follow this up with a full review of a final production model as soon as they become available, and once that's ready, I'll link to it here. First things first, the Om1 is based on the Micro Four Thirds standard, employs a new stacked 20 megapixel sensor, can record 4k video up to 60p, boasts industry-leading weather sealing and stabilization, and cost 2200 or Euros or 2000 pounds. For the body alone, the Om1 may not be an official member of the Omd series, but it unsurprisingly and wisely shares a lot of the design dna that we've come to know and love. It's unsurprisingly closest in style to the Em-1 Mark Iii, a model that continues to sell for roughly two-thirds the price of the new Om1

8 costing 899 pounds and sharing the same optical design as before, but with new coatings and Ip53 ceiling to match the camera. The second is a brand new design, a compact 40-150 F4 costing 799 pounds and again Ip53 rated and both lenses will be branded as Om Systems. The Om 1 proves there's not just life left in the micro four thirds format, but also for a brand that we thought would never grace the new camera body again. The Om1 refines the excellent controls and ergonomics of the E-m1 Mark Iii, improves the already leading weather-proofing and built-in stabilization, and thanks to a new sensor and image processor, accelerates almost every function while boosting auto focus capabilities, image quality, and video frame rates

 The photo resolution may remain the same as earlier models, but the claimed improvements in noise levels and dynamic range as well as focusing speed and object detection could be sufficient for fans of the system who are already satisfied by 20 megapixels plus. videographers now get 4k up to 60p and 1080 up to 240p. If it all works as promised, it could be very tempting for outdoor and wildlife photographers. I'd say the asking price is also reasonable given the mobility and robustness benefits, although much the same arguments remain as before

 so when you switch and put this view assist on, it actually looks like you're losing dynamic range on both sides of the histogram. It really makes this feature kind of useless, and I hope they fix that before this camera hits market so I still have a lot of testing to go with the Om1 in terms of the autofocus, the video performance before I can really offer my final judgments, and that means you need to subscribe to this channel to see that episode when we've got all those tests finished. But for now, I think it's time for Chris to come in here and give his final impressions. You may not know this, but on the side, I do a little bit of work shooting photos and videos for a local fly shop here in Calgary because you guys know how much I love fly fishing and by far my favorite platform to do that stuff with is the Olympus E-m1 Mark Iii because it's such a great field and adventure camera

 So in some ways I'm like, oh, it hasn't changed that much, right? I mean, the image quality out of Jpeg looks still very similar to me, so we're gonna have to wait and see on that, but otherwise all the computational techniques are still there and they just seem to do everything twice as fast. I like the fact that the camera's autofocus is now vastly improved and I can use tracking that was great. Also, things like that the stabilizers even better. Not by much, but it now controls rolling a little bit better

 And while the image quality was and still is quite good from these earlier cameras, the sensor was starting to look long in the tooth and we're happy to see a new chip inside this flagship camera. Inside the Om1, it has an all new stacked sensor, the first of its kind with a micro four thirds camera. It still has the same resolution as the earlier cameras at just 20 megapixels, which might be disappointing to some, but in our opinion, 20 megapixels is a good amount of resolution for this type of sensor, offering a balance of excellent detail and high Iso performance. On that note about high Iso performance

 It's a much higher resolution screen and it looks excellent in the field. In addition to the high resolution, it's also a faster refresh rate at up to 120 frames per second. The rear display gets an improvement as well. It's still a three inch display just like the En1 Mark Iii, but it's a higher resolution panel

 Olympus debuted a high-resolution 20-megapixel sensor with the E-m1 Mark Ii. Even the E-m1 Mark Iii four years later was still using the same 20 megapixel sensor. That's one key area of improvement with this new stacked backside illuminated sensor. compared to the Em13 and Em1x now, high Iso performance was one of the main areas we wanted to see improved in a successor to the Em13, and we're very pleased to see that this is the case with the Om1
