* It is not designed to be used in portrait mode unless you buy a VESA arm or stand. There are protruding buttons on both short sides of the monitor (and of course the cables go in one side), so you can't rest either one of the short sides on a table to achieve portrait mode unless you find some sticky feet and glue them on so that the table doesn't press the button on the short side opposite the cable side. * The refresh button on the front of the monitor doesn't clear all ghosting.

vscode in a split screen mode is excellent. The build quality is good, the metal case is sturdy. Two USB 3 ports on the left side are functional (one needs to connect the monitor to the PC via a supplied USB "printer" cable in the first place). Overall no complaints.

New (?). * Cons: Not sure about the longevity. The product is quite new.

Onyx Boox Nova Pro. I moved to this device because there was a new mode called, "X" mode which was supposed to speed up the navigation of Android apps at the expense of screen resolution. I really liked my Poke Pro so I figured this was worth a shot. Now, I love this device.

I think you guys have a misunderstanding about the price. From Good e Reader site I find the price is 1799.99, but the shipping price is 250$ which means the product, the total price you get and have to pay is about 2050$. While Dasung Paperlike, according to their website, the similar model is no frontlight is 2150$ (includes shipping fee), only 100$ higher than Mira pro, not 300-450 price difference, that's ridiculous.

Of those I only own the Q5, but do own Dasung Paperlike Pro, which is comparable to the Boox Mira. For your use case I would get the Boox Mira - I think the refresh rate of eink is tolerable for web browsing and more than sufficient for text-based work like coding. Sure, the virtues of syntax highlighting mostly disappear with a grayscale screen, but people have coded decades before that was even a thing.

Take a look at onyx boox Mira (or Mira pro) they are expensive but less expensive than Dasung products, they say the lag has improved a lot when comparing to boox tablets. I've heard of different reviews comparing boox Mira with Dasung, it looks like they are almost the same.
