Are we too serious here for pictures of our e-readers? I want to show off my new Pocketbook to more than the three people on the Pocketbook sub!!

 Nothing about the reader is intuitive (at least not to me) and since it's so slow, discovering what various icons are for by trial and error is a nightmare. For example, normally if you try something you get the option to return to where you were. ot so on theis e-reader (or at least not that I could discern). A real dud

 Most people are used to using smartphones which react precisely and immediately upon touch. In contrast, the Pocketbook's touchscreen is like something out of the prehistoric age. Dragging the screen takes an age, squeezing or expanding it to shrink or enlarge the text is slow and jumpy (and I mean you do it several times before it becomes clear that something is happening). It's so bad, I'm beginning to suspect that I've got a faulty machine although I bought the Pocketbook Colour at the same time and that has the same problem

I'm also looking for a e-reader after tired reading on my phone. Currently I'm thinking about Boox Poke 2 6" Android 9 32GB vs Kindle Paperwhite 10th Gen 32GB (with Ads) vs Boox Nova Pro 7.8" Android 6 32GB ( I think this is a bit old type).

I never own an e-reader before so I need review from ppl who own those model. I dont have experience of e-ink before, so what it looked like? 

What I'm looking for is a good storage, 32GB is sufficient. Main file type I use are pdf & epub. I like it if I can doodle/take note on the pdf directly (which I read that Boox can do it). I sometimes read on night time, so I need a good screen that dont tire my eyes. If the reader can display color, that will be a plus too. I have my own source of pdf & epub that I stored on cloud & phone storage. Any advice?

Could you recommend me an ereader?

Reasonably priced reader with ample memory space, unfortunately I didn't like it.

I had a PB Aqua 2 (almost the same as yours) before my Onyx Nova 2 and I must admit, I LOVED that device, maybe even more than the Nova.

So many good memories! 😭

Got myself a Pocketbook Touch HD 3 this monday and I have a hard time to read my physical books now. This thing is great!

Good e-reader once it's on, but flimsy and slow to wake from sleep

I have the P. touch HD2.   
I had the 2014 edition of PW.   
I also have the kindle voyage.  
The pocketbook was much, much better device for me when it comes to front-light.

The warm light is a huge plus and it perfectly fits night reading. No need for tricks like reverse colors ("dark mode"), because its really, really subtle. At least in the 2nd gen Touch HD. 

  
Also, it has buttons. A huge plus when you don't want smudges in your screen and I personally like the UI/firmware far better than kindle's. It's less dumbed down, less focused on selling you stuff and offers good support for non-english languages.  
Furthermore, the PDF reader is very decent and not an embarrassment of a functionality like kindle's. With a bit of work, you can even install koreader without crazy downpatching or jailbraking like kindles.  
The only thing that I really like in kindles' firmware/offer is the truly superb oxford dictionary. Everything else is IMHO on par or better in pocketbook.  


If you are not tied-down to amazon's "ecosystem" (aka store), then I would say that touch HD 3 is an excellent choice and generally an upgrade to kindle PW.

My only real gripe is that it is very sluggish compared to my previous reader which was a an android tablet.

What're your likes &amp; dislikes about Pocketbook Touch HD 3? I have the Kindle Pw and considering getting this for the warm light however after finding out that it doesn't have dark mode that sounds like a big minus to me as I read a lot in the dark. Could I get used to the warm yet dim setting? Tia!

Haven’t tried the Glowlight 4 but I really like my Glowlight 3! Solid hardware and the continued software support (Nook software isn’t as snappy as Kindle)

I've had a Kindle Voyage forever and the battery finally went caput yesterday. I saw the Nook Glowlight 4 came out last month and thought about getting it as I used to have an old Glowlight that I enjoyed. Does anyone have any other recommendations under $150? Preferably something relatively open (i.e. not a kindle). Thank you!
