 Total shipping time took about two weeks. Here we have the box itself, which this is supposed to be an actual size picture of the tablet. Looks like it will be a comfortable size to hold. Pretty simple

 And there we have the device itself, along with another screen protector, so I guess it comes with two of them then. Pretty nice looking display, let's see here. Slide out this device, can't quite get a good grip on the plastic, there we go. That looks very nice

 The battery will last for more than a week. I must say that I haven't actually run the battery down yet but it did last for about a week after I did the initial setup which of course takes more battery power to refreshing the screen a lot more. The second week there was a firmware update that downloaded and installed and the battery lasted more than a week after that so I'm perfectly comfortable saying you'll probably get about 10 days or so out of the battery life if you're using this for general checking of emails, reading some online stories through Google or newspaper websites, things like that. Great device for that

It's ok, but be aware

8 inch 300 dpi e-ink carda panel which is larger than the Kindle Oasis's 7 inches while offering the same level of crispness. The screen is noticeably less yellow than the older Buksnova Pro despite having a matte glass cover over the display. Overall it's one of the best displays inside of any e-reader on today's market. If you're used to the Kindle ecosystem reading books on an Onyx Nova 2 is slightly different

[Boox tablets](https://www.boox.com) all run Android. They don't "officially" support the Play Store, but they have an easy button to activate the Play Store anyway and it works perfectly.

Are there any e-book readers (not smartphones) that have android app support? Here in Estonia there is a paid e-book subscription service that uses an android app. I like reading books from a e-book reader (the screen is better for my eyes) but reading e-books from a smartphone just isn't for me.

  Calibre / Native reader program: This is the Achilles' heal of the Nova 2 (and the Nova Pro). It's dead easy to load epub books from my computer onto either Nova using Calibre and the USB-C cable. However, and this is a BIG however, the Native library program alphabetizes the books by author's FIRST name. This is bloody annoying and I hope Onyx fixes this problem soon

  On-screen typing is a pain in the neck. There is a notable lag between tapping a virtual key and seeing the letter pop up in the typing box.  Battery: The battery on the Nova 2 lasts longer than the Nova Pro. I am comparing the battery while reading with Bluetooth & wifi off

 I enjoy this size more than the standard 6 inch display.  Screen: The Nova 2 screen shows significantly less ghosting than the Nova Pro. When I refresh the screen, the Nova 2 does a better job of removing all the ghosting. It also turns pages much faster

The offline usage largely depends on the application, but most commercial reader apps have download and read (Kindle, Nook, Google Play Books).    All of these work fine offline on Boox as they would on any Android device.

If you are very familiar with Android, comfortable enough to do some customization, the Nova Launcher\* works nicely on it.

\\\* - Nova Launcher is not at all related to the Nova brand being used by Onyx Boox.   It is an Android application that replaces the device's own application launcher.   It predates Onyx's use of the word Nova by many years.

Yes! I use BOOX Nova 2, it is the perfect size for manga and the quality is great! For me it was the perfect investment for reading more
