Orange crush 20's can be had cheap, also has a phones output for when you don't want to be loud. Vox Pathfinder 10 sounds pretty good and can be found for 50 used. Supro Delta king/blues king amps sound fantastic for the style you mentioned and can be found for the same price point.

[NEWBIE] What should i get as my first Amp?

Overall, amp works great, sounds amazing. Recieved with broken handle and dent in corner.. it's an easy fix for the handle, but it just sucks it came in this way

Amp is awesome, but arrived damaged.

Right now I just own my 50watt Orange crush that is really only helpful in a personal practice setting, not in a band setting. I usually rehearse with the band using a bass amp they've had for a while, I believe it's a Sunn bass amp. I'd keep using that amp if it wasn't for the fact that I can't really get a good, clean sound out of it, and also I just want to own my own -gigging- amp.

 Luckily, I was able to fix the problem myself. It was a simple fix. However, for $300, I would expect the product to be in working condition when I received it. It works great now, though

Make sure you don't buy an amp with too many features, so you can focus on the actual guitar playing instead of effects and similar.

 I should have bought 100w. Blend control is very nice and the EQ truly works, tuner is great. Fantastic amp I just expected more thud.

Recently, I swapped out my starter amp, an Ampeg BA-108V2, for an Orange Crush Bass 50. Unfortunately, almost every single aspect of my tone was developed by accident and I’ve got no clue how to attain a similar sound with the new gear.

I am aware that different amps will inherently have unique tonal outputs, but for the life of me, I cannot coerce the same dry/flat/warm sound out of the Orange. The added controls for Mid Frequency, Blend, and Gain are above my pay grade in terms of familiarity. 

With tone description and preference being entirely relative, I’m not sure how well I’ve communicated my issue. Regardless, if you are familiar with Orange amps or EQ wizardry, I would greatly appreciate some advice. I’d be happy to clarify anything/give more information to provide more context for assistance.

Upgraded to an Orange amp and it appears I have the EQ understanding of a caveman. I would appreciate some advice

I use an orange crush bass 25 and it sounds really good for my bedroom. Really warm low end and well pronounced treble/mids.

What’s the general opinion on them? I’ve played 3 orange amps throughout my bass playing and don’t have a lot of experience with others, so I don’t really have anything to compare them to. I think they sound pretty good. I don’t hear them talked about a lot. Has anyone played them and what did you think compared to other amps?

Orange Amps

 This will replace a Crate 40 watt amp which is half again the size of this one and much heavier but man, what a difference it makes having a piece of quality equipment. Not to say Crate sucks or anything but this amp kicks it up a notch or two. If space is an issue, well, as you can see in the pic, it doesn't take up much room at all. If you're looking for something in the 50 watt range, this is your next amp

I bought the 25, a bitchin' little amp and liked it so much a month later I pulled the trigger on the 50. It's everything I like about the 25 only louder.  Well packaged.  The Seymour Duncans in The Cat Bass (the Cat always lands on her feet) really packs some punch with this amp. Dialed up some gnarly fuzz and ripped out the opening to "25 Or 6 to 4". Of course the Charvel just sounds sweet on anything

 Inside that was the Orange shipping box. Inside of that was the product box with the amp inside. Well packaged.  The Seymour Duncans in The Cat Bass (the Cat always lands on her feet) really packs some punch with this amp
