Ortofon OM 20

These have sound on par with the higher end speakers I’ve heard at half the price. I cannot emphasise enough how happy I am with them, and they’re a extremely good entry point into the audio world.

Pass on the older RT80 and RT81 that lack the new speed sensor. Pass on the RT83 since the cartridge is not any better. Then when the OM10 stylus eventually wears out and it's time to replace it and if you have already upgraded to better than entry level speakers you could upgrade to the Ortofon OM20 stylus or the LP Gear OM20 stylus for less cost than Ortofon and both are around the same quality as the 2M Blue.

A very pleasant and listenable cartridge, but can hum on a DD turntable. Cost - $99CDN (sale).

If you want an Ortofon cartridge with a nude elliptical stylus (which is what the Blue is), IMO choose the option with the OM5E cartridge and then just upgrade the stylus to the OM Stylus 20, which you can get for around $130 shipped, no tax, assuming you’re in the US. Buy it from there.

I looked at the OM20 and OM30 but apparently those don't reduce distortions as much so I'm not considering Ortofon anymore. I came across with this:.
