I’m headed off to house sit for friends for a week and thought it would masker a good time to do a test pack of the new Osprey Daylite 26+6 expandable travel pack. It’s as I expected and will handle the items shown with the lid not expanded. Osprey specs the bag as 17H X 13W X 6D IN. and it’s really more like 9” deep when packed tight.

Good balance in size, capacity, organization, and comfort. Looks are subjective and durability usually goes unproven, but both the standard 500d coated nylon and the laminated X-Pac version I use look great to me and seem plenty rugged. Other models I'd consider, similarly sized with solid laptop storage, are the GoRuck GR1 (both the 21L and 26L version will fit a 16" MacBook Pro or similar) and the Tom Bihn Synik 30 (thicker laptops might not fit). The Osprey Daylite 26+6 has a decent laptop sleeve with a quick-access zipper but not a separate padded compartment like I'd prefer.

Osprey daylite/daylite plus : they seem to have enough space to put my camera gear and daily needs while im exploring however the top handle seems badly placed and I'm afraid it's going to rub against my neck (as some stated online). Osprey cinch : it seemed like a great pack, i love roll tops and cinches, just enough space and small size however no bottle holder is a problem i don't want to put my water bottle in the same place where i put my electronics.
