 So that's very interesting and of course here we have the fame detachable eraser so let's see how this works. Okay you're supposed to pinch here and oh okay that's neat too. All right yeah that wasn't too hard. Okay I see how that works

 They do live up to their name of half the pressure twice the speed. Yes I did do that drawing in faster time than I typically would with a Staedtler however I felt at times that I had a little bit less control over how much dark it got but I mean it's just getting used to this pencil and then just getting my hand trained again on how much pressure I need to put. Overall definitely I would say this pencil is worth it. I think now I'm gonna have to get the other versions of the pencil to see how they compare to my Staedtlers that I'm so used to getting but definitely definitely it's a pencil that I would recommend if you can definitely save up and get it because after all it is a little bit pricey so at the price of $24 for me it was $27 after taxes that would break it down to a little bit to over $2 per pencil so that is still quite a bit for a pencil in my opinion because I'm just cheap and as you have money to blow go ahead however I do like to be frugal so I think these pencils would be something of like a special I wouldn't necessarily be my to-go pencil however highly recommend it I would definitely get yourself some if you can

Are These $25 Pencils Worth It? - Palomino Blackwing 602 Review

I own quite a few pencils, including the modern 602. Don’t get me wrong, they are nice pencils but they don’t stand out to me as „the best pencil“. I see them get hyped all over the Internet, but for me they are „just“ good pencils.

I am the only one who thinks the modern Blackwing 602 is overrated?

 Whoever packed my recent Amazon shipment just threw the Pearls and the 602s in a bigger box with my other items with no extra wrapping. Come on - it's an expensive item, folks! A rubber band would have been nice, if not a piece of plastic wrap. The box for the Pearls was crushed by another item and every pencil was outside the box and somewhat damaged in the shipping. I'm sure Amazon would have graciously accepted a return, but it would be nice to just have it shipped properly to begin with to avoid the hassle

Best pencil. Period. Best value?

 Blackwing 602. All right. We'll hold it up here and see how it does. You can definitely see it's darker than a lot of the competition there, and keep in mind I was not pushing very hard, because you don't have to with this pencil to get that darkness

 Alright, and the ferrule is custom on this guy, it is gold with an adjustable eraser and what I mean by that is if you haven't seen this already, you can actually pull these guys out and as you wear your eraser down, you can scooch it up, if I can get it out of here. I haven't done that yet, but you can scoot the eraser up so you can see that and then clamp it back down and insert it back in here and then that way you have more eraser, but we'll go ahead and crimp it back down to the bottom, there you go, oops, there we go, perfect. So that's a pretty nifty feature. Eraser again, black adjustable replaceable, nice little pro there, price, they are definitely a premium pencil, so they are $21

For me it was the way a nib feels on the paper. I have trouble writing sometimes and I wanted something smooth like a Pilot G-2 but I felt like I couldn't control my writing with a ballpoint or rollerball as well as I could a pencil. Pencils require so much pressure to work properly though that my hand would start hurting within a few minutes of writing. Fountain pens struck that balance for me between smoothness and control, and not having to press down made the experience even better.

What feature of fountain pens sold you on them as a viable daily use writing utensil?

 Second, the metal fitting that holds the eraser has come loose on a couple of my pencils now so that the eraser spins while I'm using it. After a day or two of that, the eraser and the metal fitting just slides off the wood. Not something I want to see when spending $1.91/pencil and in that respect I was disappointed

People who use 0.7 Mechanical Pencils...

I want to love these, but...

Interesting difference I noticed with my latest box of Blackwing Matte pencils: several of them (5-6!) have erasers that are almost impossible to remove by hand. 

Not sure if anyone has any tips/tricks on removing them, and maybe I was just unlucky with this set--this was also in a new long square box, instead of the old flat rectangular ones. So something maybe changed over the past ~year.

Definitely making me hesitant to buy them again, after being my go-to for so long :(
