 Now keeping in mind that this camera is still pre-production I Do want to mention one thing here: I'm still seeing the Panasonic continuous auto focusing jitters. so when the cameras continuous a lot of focusing, you're gonna get that nervousness. It just looks like it's focusing in and out, in and out really quickly. Is this gonna get rectified with firmware? My feeling is no I think this is just the way Panasonic's like to shoot and that's because again, there's no phase detector ray so something you'll still have to deal with

 The Nikon Zed 7 can go 64 iso so that's intriguing as the Nikon gonna give us better. you know, dynamic range at the same time, the Nikon has that phase detector array built into the sensor which causes some banding limits how far you can push those shadows whereas the Panasonic isn't gonna have that issue. So auto focus is going to be the category that leaves us with the most questions because really, firmware is gonna place a big part in how well that performs. But I do love that Panasonic's focusing on their autofocus systems with animals and people

 Um, I'm happy if I can have lenses if I can cover everything from 24 to 200 millimeters and then have two or three compact prime lenses um, in the 28 to 100 millimeter range. And I also have the very excellent Compact Sigma 45 Millimeter F 2.8 that I sometimes use. or I use it quite a lot Actually, whenever I need a a Compact Prime to to put on my S1r or the S1 and Sigma has many other excellent ailment lenses in their lineup as well

 It works pretty well also in video, at least based on my experience in the kind of video work that I do. so I can't really complain about the autofocus. Um, it's fast and it's accurate and that that's enough for me. But if you have the S1r or the S1 and you have used it for quite some time now, please do leave me a comment down below and tell me how you feel about the camera after you know extended period of use

 But I guess those Leica prices will put off many Lumix users, but they are available and they are excellent lenses if you are willing to pay the Leica price. At the beginning of this video, I said that this camera was quite mature when it was launched and it was. but there have been some really really good firmware updates later and they have made this camera even better. And right now I'd say the the features and the functions on this camera are pretty pretty good indeed because of the firmware updates, but there has to be something to complain about also

Lumix S1R long term review –After 18 Months

 here. The S1r has a huge battery along with dual card slots for both Xqd and UHS type Ii SD It has both microphone and headphone ports, along with a USB type-c port for both charging and data transfers and a full size HDMI port. It's got a five point seven, six million dot OLED EVF that's fast and nearly like free, so you really don't need an optical viewfinder anymore. Everything is touch enabled and it's easy to change shooting modes and settings thanks to a menu system that's far superior to what Sony has

 In one way, Panasonic's decision to stick with contrast to Tek paid off as you can push exposures more with no traces of banding seen on Canon Nikon and Sony cameras. low light high ISO Performance is lacking compared to Sony's A7 R3 and the Nikon G7, both cameras in the same category. That said, since the S1r has more resolution than both those models, you can shrink down the noise a bit more. However, it also has lower dynamic range than both those models, so you're losing a little bit of detail in both shadows and highlights

 It's also about a large 5-axis in-body stabilization system that's superior to rival models from Nikon and Sony. It seems to work equally well whether you shooting video and audio, and is particularly handy if you're using unstabilized lenses like this 15 millimeter model. here.  I Was concerned about whether the contrast detect system would nail autofocus consistently I'm happy to say that it did so, particularly while shooting high resolution photos in low light conditions. It even stood up ok for video. thanks in part to Panasonic's latest firmware update. So that begs the question is the S-1 are worth $3,700 If you had asked me this even a month or two ago, I would have said yes
