 This is a Micro Four Thirds camera, and so there's known limitations of Micro Four Thirds, and my main thing with looking into this camera was, how have they been addressed? So, when it comes to Panasonic, those issues, well, are autofocus, because they tend to stick with their contrast-based DFD autofocus, but also with Micro Four Thirds, it's dynamic range. You know, you get much more noise and worse noise performance in low-light situations, and also generally, just worse dynamic range overall. So, we got a brand new sensor in here. This is a 25

 It's better than the GH5, but it is just automatically noticeably worse than the Panasonic full-frame cameras. If you just want the best image you can get, then unfortunately, I'm going to say it now, Micro Four Thirds is dead when it comes to the best possible image. But the GH6 is a great example of what Panasonic is able to do when it comes to just giving you full, like giving you just maximum features and functionality. And this camera is a testament to just how much Panasonic can stick in a body, because they stuck everything in here

Panasonic LUMIX GH6 Review: Their Best M4/3 Camera, But Is It Enough?

 Now, as far as I can tell, the GH6 is better for video recording because it has:. * Unlimited record time compared to the G9's 30 minute limit(or even 10 minutes @ 4k60p).

The Panasonic Lumix G9 and the Panasonic Lumix GH6. I'm coming from a full-frame 10 Megapixel Nikon D80 that came out all the way back in 2006(old, I know) and even though I really like Nikon, the M43 form factor is extremely tempting. Now, as far as I can tell, the GH6 is better for video recording because it has:. * Unlimited record time compared to the G9's 30 minute limit(or even 10 minutes @ 4k60p)

Taking some getting used to

 This is a great system and overall I would say the stabilization might not be the gold standard like the Olympus om system out there. But as long as you're using a dual is to lens or if you're using that boost mode it's some of the best out there. Finally let's talk about the battery performance when you're recording video and the gh4 and gh5 were just legendary for this those little f19 batteries made those things run forever and the gh6 with its new battery is significantly worse I would say on average we're getting about an hour of record time using it for 4k depending on the temperature, which is a big step down but it's pretty comparable to what we see on most smaller mirrorless cameras these days it's just Panasonic's given up that huge advantage. However this is some of the best charging support that I've seen from a camera I don't care if it's like a junky USB charger from 10 years ago it'll very slowly charge the camera or for using like a really high end PD charger you can actually be recording and charging your battery at the same time it's just really useful flexible USB charging implementation and it's the best I've seen

 It's Jordan Drake here and we've been shooting with the GH6 for a few months now. We finally have firmware version 1.2 so bugs should all be worked out and it is time for our final full review of the GH6.  That said, when I'm thinking about what's my favorite mirrorless camera for shooting video, it's a real toss up right now between the Nikon z nine and the gh6 thing to remember is one of those is 5500 US dollars. 1st things first; update the firmware. The first update really added a lot of video options. This thing is a codec monster. It will record 4k prores 60fps to a v60 or v90 sdxc card! It has tons of different video options/codecs etc it'll make your head spin

If you're looking for a stills camera, this is not the best choice. Although it works fine at stills, you really need to be aware of the ISO and framing & exposure to get the cleanest capture

Camera you would like to make a comeback?

Can't Recommend this Camera

 You can use pretty much any LUT that you can find online. There are a ton of really great aspect ratio markers and recording indicators on the camera. Another big one is that you can now magnify while you are recording, check focus on your screen and control how this works over HDMI, which is great. The G H six now has a more video friendly time-lapse options and assist tools in the menu system

 But at the end of the day, the Panasonic Lumix G H six is in my opinion, the best image capturing tool for filmmakers under $2,300 right now, dynamic range, color and codex are fantastic on this camera. And if that wasn't enough, the huge list of resolutions frame rates assist features and great form factor makes this a very worthy successor to the G H line and another huge hit from Panasonic.  Battery life is really good at about an hour and 15 minutes. That said, there are some record limitations if you're not using the new battery. Panasonic has also rotated the battery door, which means you can use larger video heads and plates without the battery door interfering. And on the bottom of the GH6, there is a new pin receiver for video tripod plates, which is great
