 Good to go so definitely have made this with the kind of outdoor adventures in mind, but i've been using it as a kind of urban edc bag and it works pretty well as both to be honest, quite a versatile back then, when it comes to harry uh, Carrie sorry, we've got nice shoulder straps here, pretty much what you would expect and like to find on a 25 liter bag. You got a sternum strap, which you don't always see on 25 liter bags and that's nice. It can just secure it a little bit better, but your body definitely improves the carry and um yeah shoulder straps. Really nice padding it's a really comfortable bag to carry overall and the back padding

 Now it's kind of slanted a little bit if you can see that and i've just in all honesty, just had some troubles with being able to get it in it's a little bit further down the pack, and this isn't ultimately useful for a laptop, whereas more so With a water bladder, so yeah just note that, but it does hold 15 inch laptops, no problem and then in the front it's got another little pocket where i've just got a tablet. So i'll take that out there then, on the other side. Finally, there's a little internal pocket mesh, which is nice in there it's got a little key lash, i'm not entirely sure where you'd want that in that compartment. Now i haven't been using this one: it's just a little bit hard to access in all honesty, so i haven't found and because i've got like tech equipment in like a tech pouch in the main compartment i haven't been

 As you can see, that's a pretty decent size, so i'll pop that down there as well and yeah 25 liters decent size of a bag. You know i've you can, if you're carrying this around as a work, bag or you're going on outdoor adventures plenty of space. Now i will add, when it's not all the way, full, it's a bit kind of crinkly and it kind of sags a little bit. So i'm not a crazy fan of what it is when you're not kind of packing this stuff out

I have the Black Hole 25L, purchased last year. I have taken on a couple short trips and like the setup, features, and the durability. I will say if you are not an experienced one-bagger you might find it a little small. I think it's a great bag but a little on the narrow side and the top loading makes things a little tight

Hello everyone, I’m researching to buy my first travel bag for an upcoming 2-week travel to some northeast US cities (Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York, and Chicago). I’m looking to buy a bag that is guaranteed carry-on size for all international airlines and that is durable for my future travels as well. I’d prefer my bag to be black but some of the models above don’t currently have that color for sale, so it’s not that big of a deal.

Patagonia Black Hole Pack 25L Review - Versatile EDC / Hiking / Student Backpack

 I'm really glad that this front of compartment here did work the way they I thought it would just because of that. sort of like a packing method that it's not imposing on that main compartment. So I'm really happy about that and we'll give it the every day packing test next just to see how it goes. and then after that we'll we'll give it the waterfall test

 so this is sort of the adventure packing test. It's some things you might find in your bags if you're going on a day trip or overnight or weekend trip. Just a couple staples that you might bring along with you, seeing how it fits inside the bag, and whether or not everything on this table can make the cut or not. So let's get to it all right

 So then if we go up here in this top compartment here I would just put sunglasses there. It's kind of the spot to be in, right, sort of perfectly made for it and right here on the front compartment still. as you can see if you remember me mentioning, it doesn't really impede this pocket when this main compartment is full, which is really great. It's just a simple design that Patagonia have gone with gives that bit of elevation gives you that coat of hand width of space

 So what I think we'll do is in here. So in this top part up here, I'm just gonna put the knife. it's just gonna allow for simplicity. you know, maybe you need it quickly? It's right there you're gonna be able to get it alright

 The best part is once you pull the water bottles up, they sit flush against the pack. The top mounted reinforced hull handle makes it easy to carry this in transit. One of my favorite features though about the padding and black hole backpack is this sneaky front zipper. It looks like it shouldn't even be there, but it opens often

 Its rip proof. It's just about everything proof but yet it's super comfortable. It's an awesome day pack for everyday use. You can use it in the city you used to take to school

 Built to last is kind of a mantra that they live by and they also have an element of social responsibility which is awesome. This 25 liter black hole backpack is waterproof. Its rip proof. It's just about everything proof but yet it's super comfortable

 This bag's water bottle pockets are deep and secure, but I do wish the pack had these straps just for extra security. And there you have it.  The backpack has a false bottom in the laptop compartment, meaning that the sleeve is stitched slightly above the actual bottom of the backpack. The laptop sleeve actually ends right here. This is becoming more and more common in bags nowadays, and for good reason because it protects the laptop from hitting the ground when you put down the backpack. The false bottom also saves the bag from needing a ton of extra padding, which adds bulk and weight

 I'm not sure why Patagonia keeps choosing a plastic buckle as it could rub up against the laptop and may scratch it. I wish they had extended the fabric higher to cover the buckle or used a velcro strap. Sure, the velcro is a little less secure than the buckle, but the whole compartment is zipped closed anyways, so I think there's plenty of security. And lastly is no compression straps

 This is a personal gripe, but not for the reason you think on other bags like the Refugio. I don't actually use the compression straps to flatten the bag. Instead, these straps have become very valuable in securing my water bottles. These straps have saved my bottle from tumbling off rocks into rivers, and worst of all, sliding three rows down an airplane aisle

 Coming around to the harness system, we have a fairly padded shoulder strap and back panel with this air mesh wicking which will do well for comfort and breathability. These shoulder straps are thick cut and tapered to fit economically on the body and on the shoulder straps, we have two accessory loops for attaching more gear on on this one. Here we have the Patagonia P6 logo which is a nice touch. Coming a bit further down, we have an adjustable sternum strap which has four points of adjustment on this strip of daisy chain webbing

 again. on the other side, I've just decided to keep my sunglasses in there.  if you're commuting, this fits up to a 15 inch laptop. This is my 13-inch MacBook Pro Retina and it fits in with space to spare so plenty of space for those bigger size of 15-inch laptops. And then further below we have the tablet compartment which is good for a medium sized tablet like a regular iPad or Galaxy tablet. What's really good about this compartment in that hopefully you can see it is fleece-lined as well on that side and that's really good to keep the screen of the tablets safe from scratches, so that's a good feature as well

Super Burly For Outdoor Adventures - The Patagonia Black Hole Backpack 25L

 It's about 12 pounds or five and a half kilograms. This is the bag fully packed on me, taking it on a couple of short trips. Shoulder straps feel good, back padding feels good on my back. It's decently comfortable for the weight that I have on here

 Alright, so here's a 14 to 15 inch laptop. It's still fairly thick, but not too thick, and it's a lot smaller than that other one if we slide it in here so that fits so we can fit that in fairly easily. There's still a lot of space in here, you know, strap it down and it's not gonna go anywhere. And it's got some padding in here, so it's really not gonna be endangering the back padding

 Alright, so the first test we're gonna do is we're gonna do a laptop test just to see how the sleeve back here sort of fits and holds a laptop I know in the other video I Just put my Macbook in there. but I Thought: For the purpose of this, we'll do it a little more so. I Have a 17 inch laptop here. It's quite big

Organization-wise, there’s a laptop sleeve against the wall that secures with a buckle and can hold up to a 15″ laptop. We haven’t been able to fit one with a protective case on during our testing, which is something to note if you’re someone who typically appreciates the added protection. 

Attached to the shoulder straps is a standard sternum strap that can be positioned on one of five loops, depending on wherever it best supports you and the weight you’re carrying. This bag holds about 25L of gear, which makes it more of an in-between size, meaning you may or may not find this sternum strap necessary—either way, it’s there if you need it, and we’ve found it to improve the overall carry during our testing.
