It's been a long year and quite an unconventional one. There were quite a few new launches as well. Many of us got to discover and try a lot more new products that usual.
I thought it would be fun to discuss our great new finds this year along with overhyped underwhelming products. 
Since we see many reviews and more positive feedback of what worked I thought it would be interesting to talk about the our negative experiences with popular products and new discoveries during this year. 
I'll start with my list :

- Neutrogena oil free face wash (the orange one) -
I started using this because it had 2% SA and I didn't find any negative reviews on nykaa while buying it. I had used 2% SA based products before so I didn't think my skin would have an issue. Unfortunately within 3 days of use my skin had a terrible reaction, my skin barrier was damaged and it took me a month to recover from the mess. It was only later that I realised many people experienced the same with this product and the negative reviews were buried somehow. If you sort the reviews by 'Most helpful' (the reviews with most upvotes come first) and you can see so many scary stories of people who had a similar experience.

- Suganda White lotus moisturiser -
This was a decent product but you really can't call it a moisturiser. It made my skin oily in half an hour. I really wanted it to work but it was just meh. I didn't find it worth the price.

- Simple refreshing facewash -
This was also a nice product, I bought it because of the hype but tbh I find it hard to wash off idk about others. I feel like I really need to wash it off well for the product to go completely and i didn't enjoy the feeling. Pretty decent basic product but very underwhelming experience :(

- Derma Co Azelaic acid 10 -
I know derma Co is a bit problematic but I was just so tempted to try out the azelaic acid. I used it consistently every night for 4 weeks but it made no difference to my PIE. They've suggested consistent use for 6 weeks to see results but in the 4 weeks that I used it i noticed that I was breaking out a lot more than usual which was frustrating. I decided to take a break and my skin stopped acting out so I high key feel like it broke me out. I don't have the guts to try it again anytime soon.

- Cosrx AHA BHA toner -
I had a lot of expectations from it but it literally did nothing for me. It's so sad and annoying especially because it was not really in my budget and i had to save up to buy it. It literally just felt like spraying water on my face. Regret this purchase big time.

- Plum green tea mattifying moisturiser - 
I had bought the whole plum green tea set with the facewash, toner, moisturiser, night gel and face mask. I really liked everything in the set except the moisturiser. Everything else worked pretty well for me and I emptied them all to my surprise but this moisturiser was just unbearable. I don't know what it is but it felt so weird and uncomfortable on my skin and made me so sweaty. I couldn't use it for more than 3 days. If you have a sweaty face please avoid it.

Overhyped &amp; Underwhelming products of 2020

This toner will only tone your skin and nothing else. It won't help in reducing the acne. This is just like any other normal toner and doesn't do anything else to your skin as it claims. If you're really looking for a toner that will help in acne then this is not the one

I have a few closed comedones and a couple of cystic acne on my cheeks. The acne follow a life cycle and go away, the comedones are not budging. Please suggest a mild (the milder the better) AHA i can use on these. I don't mind waiting a while to see results but, I don't want to hurry and damage my skin in the process. I have previously tried Pixi Glow Tonic and it made my skin dull and damaged my skin barrier in just 3 uses. I don't know if this helps for reference on how sensitive my skin can be.

Recommendations for toners without alcohol and fragrance

Thought of giving review after testing it for 1 month, First things first this was my first toner and if you've been searching for 'THE PERFECT TONER' for your oily acne prone sensitive or combination skin type just go for it!. When you apply it, there's a very very mild burn sensation, but I've an oily sensitive skin and trust me it did not give me any side effects at all! Plus it's really good at controlling oil keeps your skin soft, supple and fresh.
