Presto ProFry Review & Fried Oysters

 It disassembled pretty well for cleaning but some of the dirtiest parts of the fryer are not water prof and are much harder to wash as they can't be submerged. I also feel it heats up very slowly and my oil burnt after one use even though past fryers have had oil remain good for multiple uses. The temoerature doesn't get as Hugh as some other fryers. This one doesn't even go to 400 and the reccomended frying temoerature of some foods is 390 so it's hard ti get those right

  It's worked great for small things but the oil isn't very deep. I bought this specifically to make blooming onions and the oil isn't deep enough to cover an onion. It requires a lot of oil but much of it is wasted because the heating element is so bulky that only half the depth of your oil is actually usable for frying.  It has worked well for smaller items

Good value for the price but there are better out there

 Long and presto recommends that you do not use an extension cord once the fryer comes a cover, so there's a V: no oil splatter when you lower food into the oil, if you're, making french fried or other food with a high moisture content, don't use the cover. There'S a grease filter in the cover and you don't have to replace it. A frying basket with handle is included and fryer is heated by an 1800 watt immersion element. This is the enamel pot

 Put these two pieces of chicken, I gently lower the back into the oil first and then put the chicken into the oil. I'M frying these at 375 degrees, 10 minutes girl just came back off again be careful. It'S very hot! In this area mm chicken gray. This bus looks a little bit darker than the first and they're not sticking to the basket at all, so just dropping them in with the basket already in the oil is the best way to fry Mattern food

 The bass gets very hot during frying, so don't touch it. You can hear a lot of activity in there, let's just take it in take the cover off gently, pull this off and put on the pop sensors in here for a few minutes for all the oil to drain they've trained now I'll put these on a plate. Don'T forget to turn the dial all the way down when you're finish, frying always remove the plug from the wall outlet and then from the deep fryer. As I said before, when you use batter chicken, it might stick to the basket, and this one has, as you can see, will come out with some gentle prying

 All the parts of the unit are dry. Also it's best. If you pat dry, any food of excess moisture since hot oil and water are a dangerous combination. When you get the unit, the handle is going to be separate from the basket to attach the handle squeeze the hooks, and these have to go into the two holes

Unit is much to small for even two people. It heats up quickly and temp. holds good. But overall, I don’t consider it a fryer that a serious cook would want in their kitchen

Not what I expected!

.it and ALL of these mini counter top fryers are ONLY GOOD FOR TWO ADULT PEOPLE.  All of these mini fryers will only cook two orders of frozen fries or four pieces of chicken at once. If you want more fries you will wait ten more minutes if you want more chicken you will wait about 27 minutes more

 Seriously, I only bought this as an experiment. If you want to fry for a larger group use a TALL stock pot on the stove and a temperature probe on a wire and expect to use about 5 quarts of oil to keep the temperature from falling too much.

Works well enough for what it is. These ONLY COOK ENOUGH FOR TWO ADULTS & maybe a single child

Only reason I gave this deep fryer 2 stars instead of 1 is because when it does stay on it works. However, it constantly shuts itself off and that causes problems when I am trying to cook with it. Especially when it shuts off while heating up. It is quite dangerous trying to get to the "Reset" button while the oil is somewhat hot to get it to continue to work so the food can actually be cooked

Nothing but an aggravation

 No big deal but good to be aware of it when lifting. Biggest advantage of this type of fryer is obviously the separate oil pot which allows for best cleaning. There are some sharpish edges on the pot to contend with when lifting the pot from the main body.
