Profitec pro 300 is the smallest I would do and recommend the 700 for your use case. Profitec is very similar to the lelit, but known for a better build quality, inside and out. Guidance for your research:. look into what an E61 group is to see if it’s a trade off you will accept for affordability.

After that, a dual boiler and PID let’s you have control over temp with the logistical convenience of swapping between steam and shots without issue. A smaller dual boiler like the Profitec Pro 300 has smaller boilers than a Pro 600 so I would expect less power in the steam wand. A dual boiler with PID is basically the best of all worlds.

I have a Profitec Pro 300 since 2 years and I love it (it's also a dual boiler but no E61). It's built like a tank. Everything just works and espresso is delicious if done right :).

cons: no pid. Profitec pro 300, simple machine , no preinfusion , excellent build quality. pros: 58mm , saturated group, 5 min heat up time for espresso, awesome steam,. cons: no PID.

-overall aesthetic is not as pretty as other machines. Knowing what I know now about this machine, if I can do it all over again, I'd probably pick the Profitec pro 300 for better aesthetic and build.
