$350 REALFORCE R2 PFU Limited Edition Keyboard REVIEW

This is a great keyboard, and I like the simple color combo you have. I was switching between my HHKB and Realforce R2 while still in the office, but since working from home, this has been my daily for the last 4 months.

Moved from a Ducky One 2 Mini to this. Very pleased so far

 The key caps feel great and there is zero rattle or bend in the board.  There are a few downsides. First, the price is pretty high for a keyboard. Second, there isn't a warranty if you purchase through Amazon, only through Fujitsu

  Sound - This thing is not only quiet but the little sound it does make sounds amazing! There is a nice *thock* sound that's quiet enough for me to hear but not the person a cube over.  Quality - This board is heavy and definition screams quality. The key caps feel great and there is zero rattle or bend in the board.  There are a few downsides

I thought I was going crazy considering a $350 keyboard but after going down the rabbit hole that is mechanical keyboards, i figured this was the last step.  I was looking for a new work laptop after my old mx cherry red keyboard started falling apart. I wanted the new board to be tactile, semi-quiet, and good quality. This keyboard checks all those boxes and more

Expensive but Worth It

RGB and backlit is very helpful as I work in the dark. I’m going to be using this keyboard for work mostly and very little programming.

I'm trying to get into mechanical keyboards with the Ducky One 2 RGB, but have no idea what switches to get? Any recommendations? (Note: I don't want the blue switches because they're too loud and my family will kill me)

It's served me well to this day, but it's gotten quite battered from moving houses and the keys sound meh and feel mushy. The space bar is also beginning to feel mushy.

Im starting to think of a replacement. I'd like either a full size or ten keyless (that's the word right?) keyboard, maybe with some quieter switches so I don't bother those I live with, but get the nice keyboard feeling.

I would like to buy a 65% wireless keyboard. I'm hesitating between a Keychron K6 and an Anne pro 2.

I think the K6 is more appealing (bigger battery and hot swappable switches), but I'll eventually need to change the keycaps which are ABS. Is there reasons I should go for an Anne pro 2 instead ? Which keyboard is the best quality ?

Also is there any other keyboards I should consider ?

So the Keychron boards are known for being a bit hollow.

What’s the best way to sound dampen them? Just add foam in the back?

Additionally is there a way to add a lot more weight in there at the same time? Heavy rubber or weights or something?

I recently bought a custom themed VA87 (Wired & Dual-OS). I am a mac user. I use the setting in macOS that makes the F keys perform as standard function keys on external keyboards. This way in order to access the media functionality of those keys I press the Fn key simultaneously with the F key I want, and without the Fn key the keys are normal function keys (F1-F12).

However, I realized that the F5 and F6 keys (as opposed to all other F keys) forces me to press the Fn key with them in order to get standard functioning. I guess it might have something to do with some of the backlighting features of the keyboard (In mine only Caps Lock and ScrLK has LEDs indicators and no other backlighting). 

Is there a way, perhaps using some key combination, that will force these two keys (F5, F6) to work as standard function keys without the need to use them with the Fn key??

I use Dvorak and having the key prints aren't an issue since I never look at the keyboard while typing, but I'd still like to get blank keycaps to make it look nice. I’ve been looking around for a new mechanical keyboard and I’m having a difficult time find something that checks all of the boxes. 

Below I‘ve listed the functionality I’m looking for in order of priority:

1. Topre switches
2. Mac Compatibility — need the command option and function keys 
3. Backlit - preferred RGB
4. Bluetooth Compatibility or hybrid
5. Additional Mac keys e.g. brightness, volume, etc
6. Open to tenkeyless or full 

My two primary goals for this new keyboard is an amazing typing experience (via topre switches) and Mac compatibility. RGB and backlit is very helpful as I work in the dark. I’m going to be using this keyboard for work mostly and very little programming. In the past, I’ve stayed consistent with Cherry Brown swtiches and have had Leopolds and am now using a wireless RGB backlit Keychron with brown switches. The Keychron is ok... but I seem to fat finger keys constantly. 

I’ve looked into keyboards like HHKB which looks amazing and folks that have them seem to swear by them... Worried it might be too complicated for me as I won’t have the arrow keys and might be too hard of a learning curve to use the repurposed keys via function. 

I’ve looked into the realforce r2 limited edition and the rgb version... still am researching to understand which one would work best for me. This is definitely an option.

I was looking into the Das Keyboard 5Q because it seemed to check all of the boxes and have a lot of productivity features but they’ve had terrible reviews from Mac users. Open to this if there are folks that have had good experiences. 

Please let me know your thoughts. My price range is up to $500.

What is the difference between the Ducky x Varmilo Miya Pro boards and the Varmilo Miya68-C ones? I am looking into buying a Miya Pro board but cannot find one with EC v2 switches, but on the Varmilo website they offer the Miya68 C version, and I am trying to figure out if one is worse or less modified then the other. Thanks!
