 Okay so we've so far shown how the rack rotates out it rotates up it also rotates down so I can get control of the bikes and it rotates down and that's even with the bicycles loaded to provide access into the back of the vehicle. So here we can open up the back end we got two bikes loaded and you have full access into the rear of the vehicle. To move it back into the carrying position we'll just grab the front end of the rack and it automatically connects into that position. If we want to swing it out instead we have that option as well so I'll just loosen that knob again and then I'll pull the release and I can also swing it completely out and we have in this case as we swing out I can also bring the carrier over into another position so that you see how the bikes were about to hit the side of the vehicle and now with that added pivot they're completely out of the way and obviously we could get into the back of the vehicle in this case as well

 First of all we have it currently deployed and I'm going to remove it from the hitch and show how it is attached to the receiver hitch on this vehicle. So first we have the hitch bolt. I'll just unscrew that by hand. It hasn't been tightened yet

 To do that I'm just going to bring it over, drop it down onto the bottom ledge of the hitch and then bring it vertical and begin inserting it. Next I'll be using the hitch pin as a feeler. So I'll insert that and it's pressing against the side of the stinger on this rack until it finds the hole. Next I want to tighten it as far as I can with my fingers to ensure that it's going in smoothly

 So let's go ahead and bring it back into the other position and here again now it's ready to drive away. Now lastly there is security for the bicycles themselves so we demonstrated how the rack is locked to your hitch but Rocky Mounts also includes a very sturdy very thick and heavy-duty cable for security for the bicycles themselves so it has enough length to go through frames and some if not all of the wheels let's just go ahead and try to see if we get through all the wheels in this case maybe some cases you can some cases you can doesn't look like we can get through all the wheels in this case but we'll try to get through some of them at least let's get through definitely through the frames. Okay so I have them looped through and you'll just want to experiment to try to see how much of the bikes you can get locked up definitely you want to get the frames and perhaps the wheels as well so I have this metal end and you'll notice down below here we have a lockdown point so the lockdown point serves as a lockdown position for the second lock and now at this point it not only locks up the bikes but it also prevents this this bolt from being released as well so you have a very sturdy lockdown point both are key matched so one key operates both locks so overall you have a an excellent means for transporting a wide range of different bike styles and bike wheel types it has excellent access into a wide range of different vehicle types this all leads to a rack that's unique on the market and a really good choice for a lot of different people so those have been all the key features of this Rocky Mounts backstage platform bicycle rack I'm Paul with rackoutfitters.com this product along the full line of Rocky Mounts products are available at rack outfitters and thanks for watching

 The actual locks seem kind of easy to break if you wanted to, but at least it provides some security. The unit only holds two bikes. It is not extendable. So if you want more than one bike, excuse me, more than two bikes, you'll need to get a different one

 By simply undoing this lever, which is nice and bright and blue, as are all the levers, and then pulling up the pin here, the carrier swings out of the way. The pin will then engage to the arm. The unit will continue to swing until this pin right here engages, and it is out of the way of your van, so that your back doors can open completely and you can get your things out. This is a great design by Rocky Mounts

 The one problem with this unit, and I'll show you as I put it back together, is that the bikes, if their handlebars are wide, will tend to hit each other, and you won't be able to get them both on the unit. Here we go pulling the pin so this thing can go back into place. Simply clicks in, and then you tighten the handle here. As I was saying before, if you have two modern mountain bikes with wide handlebars, these two trays are so close together that the handlebars will actually hit the neighboring seat

 So I'm going to open that up and in this case I'm going to get that strap tucked way out of my way and have it to where it's not going to have the rear tire sit on it just to speed things up. So here we have our second bike, now this bike was chosen to show the big range of tire sizes that will work. Same thing I'm just going to reach down low on the frame and fork and stand up, get that back wheel in, front wheel in, and really what you want to do is do the front wheel first to get that stability. Again find the deepest part of that hook and then pull down nice and snug here at the back and run that strap through your rear wheel

 Okay, so now you can also see we've got a very rigid connection of the whole rack to the vehicle so that's what that anti-wobble hitch bolt and that ball bearing achieve. Alright, so next we've got the blue handle here which we lift and rotate the platform into the carrying position quick and easy. Also here on the underside, let's point out the adjustability. You have four bolts that allow you to slide this tray and the lower tray here independently to maintain a good positioning between the two bikes that are loaded

 So I think on this one I can probably get it through both frames and a couple wheels. Now here, if you can watch me, I'm going to run the lock down end through the loop end. Essentially we're just creating a lasso and now what you've got, you'll see up underneath here we have a second hitch pin lock and I'm going to lift up the cover, unlock it. So this should be kept on full time because it actually acts as a theft deterrent of the platform to the base because if someone were to loosen that bolt essentially they could take off this entire platform

 Next step when you're ready to load a bike is you rotate this hold down arm to the outside, press the blue button and extend that hook all the way out. This is the backstop of your cradle. So I'm going to open that up and in this case I'm going to get that strap tucked way out of my way and have it to where it's not going to have the rear tire sit on it just to speed things up. So here we have our second bike, now this bike was chosen to show the big range of tire sizes that will work
