The big news here is the included ramps that allow you to push your bikes onto the platforms rather than having to lift them off the ground. The ramps are quick to deploy, do a nice job guiding the bikes up and down, and store easily on the rack while driving. In addition, the EasyFold is among the simplest to store: the platform’s sides fold upwards in half and an integrated handle allows you to carry the rack short distances with one hand. With a load capacity of 130 pounds (between two bikes), the EasyFold checks all the boxes for a heavy hauler.

What are the compromises with the EasyFold's design? To start, it’s easily one of the most expensive ways to carry two bikes, and therefore is not a good value unless you need or want the ramps. Moreover, there’s no option to add an extension to the XT 2, which means that two bikes are your hard ceiling and you’ll need to buy another rack if you want to carry more. But for e-bike owners who want an integrated and deployable ramp—and others who don’t want to lift heavy bikes on and off their rack—the Thule EasyFold XT 2 is the best option available.  It has popped off a number of times. I now must add some other straps from the bike rack bar, around the bike itself and back to the bar to help the clamp hold my bike in. I also add one around my husband’s mountain bike as I don’t trust the clamp if going on a rougher dirt road. Getting the two bars through the bike triangles and making sure there are no rubbing spots is a real trick but will work

Great design but not for every bike. I have a Trek Powerfly 4 eBike which I love. The ramp does make it easier to get the bike on the rack but tough for 1 person. Takes 2 to really guide it up the small included ramp

Not for every eBike

75” deeper - and our bikes have only 2” tires, they aren’t fat tires, which others have complained about. Third con is trivial but there isn’t any way to secure the ramp in place once the bikes are on, I just dropped the ramp into a depression in the middle of the rack and held it in place with a bungee cord; that shouldn’t be necessary on an expensive rack like this. In summary: this is a very good rack but it could be improved.

Pros: well built, sturdy (but see cons), attractive, folds easily, easy setup - I didn’t even need to read the instructions. Love the knobs to secure the clamps plus they are keyed so they just spin around when locked, makes it very hard to steal the bikes. Cons: Unlike the other Thule racks, this one has a 1.5” tongue with an attached adapter for 2” receiver

Well built rack

Our heavier bike would not fit on first. It's a tight squeeze fitting 2 ebikes on this rack, but we did it. Hopefully, we'll be able to travel with it.

 The bottom plate could be wider, too, at least 4" to put some space between the bikes. We had to put something between our bikes to keep them from getting banged up. The straps that hold the tires in place are wayyyy too short. I have no idea why they wouldn't offer a choice of strap sizes

 We settled on the Thule easyfold XT 2, after a lot of research. We haven't traveled with the bikes yet, but we did load them up to see if they'd fit. They seem to. BARELY

This rack looks solid, and I used it 1-2 times a month for more than a year with no issues. But recently we drove on a residential street with numerous speed bumps. My speed seemed adequate if I had 2 e-bikes on this rack.

On a bumpy road the mechanism that it keeps the bikes in the rack in the vertical orientation can possibly get disengaged so parts of the outer bike can no longer stay clear of the road. I wonder if there were other customers who experienced such malfunction of the rack

Beware of bike damage on bumpy rides!

Relatively lightweight with a folding design that collapses for storage or when not in use. The loading process is somewhat complicated and the ramp is too short when used with a truck or Jeep. It's complicated

 No after market or clamp extensions seem to exist for it. It's unfortunate because it seems really nice if you have a bike that fits. Very easy to mount, transport, and store.

I have two Trek Rail bikes (L and XL) and the frames on both are too thick for the Thule clamps. It's possible to get them on with some creativity but not in a way that feels secure.  The yield movement of the rack mount structure when I use the tilt feature to get into the back of the car is seemingly excessive. As a result, I remove the batteries, seats, and everything else easily removable to reduce the weight.  I like the concept of the design. It is a shame I have to use so many workarounds to be able use the bike rack
