 So I think that's a pretty important upgrade if you want to. You know if you want to play this piano and get all the pedaling features out of it that you would expect out of a digital or acoustic piano, Well, that's pretty much all I wanted to highlight in this uh, short review and I I'm really satisfied with this uh, this piano and I'm glad I got it. I think it's going to serve me well here at work and what I'd like to do in closing is just play a little song and what I'm going to do is I'm going to transition between the Roland Concert Grand Piano sound and my Vsl businessor for Imperial Grand so you can hear the difference between the internal sound and the sampled library sound and you can see which one you think sounds better. It's been a few weeks since I've unboxed this piano and I've gotten a chance to settle in with it a little bit and I just wanted to highlight a few characteristics that I think are unique with it. I needed a piano to use here at my office at work and I just had a few basic requirements in this Roland and fit all the necessary requirements that I had. It's Roland's one of Roland's entry level keyboards with 88 weighted graded hammer action keys that are triple censored and it has a Usb audio interface and you are hearing what Roland refers to as their concert Grand

 It doesn't move and every other pedal I've used like this has always moved around on me, but this one doesn't and it has a little switch. Here has a little switch here where you can utilize it as just an on off switch or you can have it as a continuous pedal where you can get the full range of half continuous slash half pedal featuring which the Fp30x actually supports. So I think that's a pretty important upgrade if you want to. One other thing I think I would mention is an accessory that's I think is pretty important and the sustain pedal it comes with is, you know, one of those little cheap plastic switch on off switches, but I opted for this nice Uh roll and accessory. This is what they call their deep Dp-10 foot pedal here sustain pedal and it's really one of the nicest ones I've ever seen. It has this nice leather flap that pivots out and when you put your foot on it, it really anchors it in place

Buying a used instrument comes with it’s own set of challenges, such as making sure you are not buying something that will need repairs to work right. Be careful, Buyer Beware and check everything over very well before you shell out any money.

 You’ll want something with a weighted keybed such as the Yamaha P-125, Roland FP-30X and there are others. Check the board menu for digital piano suggestions. $200.00 or less is going to get you a keyboard with an inferior action and more than likely no weighted action at all for that price, unless you can find a heck of a good bargain on a used instrument

17-Year-Old Beginner Looking for Good Starting Keyboard Sub-200 Dollars.

 I also tried the following pianos: Alesis Recital Pro, Korg B2, Yamaha P125 (prices ascending) very popular units all from solid companies, and all at different price points.  To me, the Roland's sound is phenomenal. I was worried it wouldn't be loud enough, or that the piano sounds wouldn't stick out. Well these fears were in vain

It's quite loud (on a stand in my small living room), & the modeled piano sounds have so much character and depth. I was especially concerned that the down-firing speakers would muffle the sound and this is not the case

I am very particular about sound quality, not super particular about keyboard feel, and I realize there are limitations to digital pianos. Also, I spent years playing acoustic pianos (and other keyboards) so I have a good sense of what I need and what to expect.  Price-wise, the 30X is at the very top of entry-level digital pianos. Since you can get a piano aimed at a similar market for $500 less, it's important to know what you're getting, besides Roland's good name

excellent home digital piano, worth the premium

 A short good pair of quarter inch connectors and a decent audio interface and you're, almost as good as if you just had a direct digital connection. So it's got that. Obviously this can accommodate a single pedal, definitely recommend upgrading that to the dp10 pedal or any of the dp pedal series, because it just kind of comes with that.  So for people who are thinking about this instrument for personal playing and maybe you're a bit more of a classical player - or maybe you really enjoy playing music, where you know a nice lush palette of tone is going to be a tool for you. You might really be impressed with what this instrument has to offer, and i again i i think that has to be that they've jacked up quite a bit of the complexity in the tonal algorithm, because that bmc chip is in there. They can really just push it. A lot harder, the polyphony on there, which is always a bit of a barometer of the quality of the you, know the processor not always, but in this case it's jumped 256 notes worth of polyphony

🎹Roland FP-30X Digital Piano Review & Demo - Upgraded Speakers & Sound Engine🎹

Its seems the entire Roland FP series is very good. I personally went with the 10 because it was the cheapest and im just learning so didn't think I really needed all the extra digital effects and samples and features etc. 

This has been asked many times so feel free to search past post and im sure you'll find bmmuch more detailed answers, but for my two cents I got a Roland FP-10 and can vouch for it 100 percent. For its prices is has a beautiful sound, nicely weighted keys, it is a very solid sturdy instrument and I personally think it looks classy and beautiful. And its about as portable as any other full 88 key digital that you'll find.

My situation: I go to university now and live alone for the first time. It's a small apartment so we couldn't get my old (not portable) E-Piano here. After a month now I realize that playing at the weekend only isn't enough for me and I need a new piano.

I'm looking for an e-piano that is portable so it basically has no piano stand attached to it. I will get one of those X-piano-stands for it.  
Does anyone of you have a recommendation for a piano that has nice sound and a good feeling when pressing keys that costs less than 1000€? I would also prefer it to have 88 keys.

E-Piano recommendations

Very nice KB minus no mode status an terrible sustain pedal.

 The keys on the roland fp30x helps me keep my fingers planted even after extended practice makes my hands a little sweaty [ Music ]. Although this piano comes with six velocity curves, the default touch response suited me perfectly, unlike those from casio, which i had to tweak as the keys were a little too lightly sprung. Quiet pianissimo trills on my fp30x over here were also not an issue due to the triple key sensors. I will also demo as many of the inbuilt voices as i can in this video. The roland fp30x comes with an 88 keys, fully weighted graded hammer action with a simulated escapement mechanism which, in my opinion, is one of the best replications of a grand piano's action. At this price point, i can feel a slight bump when the keys are pressed halfway down, just like how the jack on an acoustic grand piano disconnects from its knuckle

 The upgraded fp30x finally gets a well-deserved pair of quarter inch, stereo outputs. The line output is crisp, clear and has a low noise flow, and that is what i'm using to record the demos in this video you're watching [ Music ]. The roland fp series is one of the early adopters of bluetooth audio and it is well implemented. It is easy to use the inbuilt speakers of the piano as bluetooth speakers

 I absolutely hated using the app but was forced to use it as there are so many functions only available through the app interesting features, such as backing rhythms with auto accompaniment and chord detection only works within the app itself with the app you can also access an Additional 127 general midi tones which you can play with on the keyboard, [ Music ], the poorly implemented lesson function - is also only available on the roland app and not on the piano itself. I would suggest you use the learning apps. I recommend in the video description below instead and save yourself, the frustration of learning to play with roland's piano everyday app, the quality of the piano and electric piano samples are above average, for what you pay for. I have an old, very out of tune, poorly-maintained piano (it was my childhood piano, and my very first one, so my parents bought it in a previously-well-loved condition for $100).

Almost anything would be an upgrade at this point, but I don't want to waste my money on something I won't be happy with. I'm open to other recommendations! TIA.

Is Donner a good digital piano brand?

Overall very good, comparable to Korg D1

 [Music] really is a lovely piano. Loads of loads of volume actually as well for the size and it's great. So if you're looking for a portable piano that can maybe teach you how to play using the apps that you want to connect to other things, it's got Bluetooth Bluetooth Midi. Can it connect it and use it to control the keyboard? Or maybe you don't want to put the metronome [Music] and you can also record yourself playing as well

 Understand, and it's great at home. It also has separate outputs as well, so you can put it through a Pa separately, which is brilliant and you don't usually get that at this price point. So it means you can have the the speakers that are on inside whilst you're connecting that to a Pa with separate amplification however you want it and it's got 22 watts of amplification inside. Each key has its own separate weight, so it feels and plays like a piano

 So if you're looking for a portable piano that can maybe teach you how to play using the apps that you want to connect to other things, it's got Bluetooth Bluetooth Midi.
