My home has wired smoke detectors but they don’t automatically call the fire department, or notify me if I’m away. I have simplisafe and smartthings - two systems that already somewhat overlap in hardware.

I am not trying to make this an Android vs Apple fight. My Galaxy and my Pixel would tell me actively how much battery percentage was left. Is Apple trying to create something similar or is this different by comparison?

Is anyone reading the actual article? The patent is not so much about analyzing battery drain and saying “you have 3 hours of battery power left”. Instead, it’s more about the phone ***analyzing usage patterns over time***. (Similar to optimized charging I assume). Your location is also factored into it. (Again, similar to optimized charging?). The phone will then use this information to make predictions about when to charge. And notify you accordingly.

This battery has been working well so far. I have the newer white version, with v2 firmware. I got it because I have an outlet attached CO/Propane detector (Kidde KN-COEG-3 Nighthawk), which nobody makes a "smart" explosive gas detector for propane. I cannot speak to battery life, as the detector I have is hard-wired and not designed to run for long on battery (24-48 hrs
