So it would not be my top pick, really it's one of the least versatile gravel bikes I've seen BUT if you don't care about that too much it is fun, fast and looks awesome. If you always lock up inside or have really good lock locations but the versatility concerns you I would seriously consider the Salsa Warbird which is still a fast carbon gravel race bike but can take racks and mudguards and also is more upright.

I might also suggest the Salsa Warbird if you're looking for a fast attack commuter. The Vaya has more options for front and rear racks, but the Warbird also has fender and rack mounts but requires a special seat collar and you might be limited to Salsa racks for fitment. However, if you're looking for speed and fun, the Warbird definitely edges out the Vaya.

As soon as I read about this bike, I knew it was the bike I needed to get. I looked at a handful of others, and I was even starting to think I was going to compromise and get one of a handful of other perfectly capable gravel bikes. Specialized Diverge and Salsa Warbird were a top that list. Ultimately I'm glad I didn't have to compromise, though I'm sure I would have been happy with any of those options.

I've got a Salsa Warbird that came with Maxxis Ramblers. They have treated me well; they roll fast on pavement and work well off road. I converted mine to tubeless and they have been trouble free for 10 months now.

I would also suggest checking out a Salsa Warbird as well. I've had mine for two years now, and it's all I ride outdoors. Got multiple wheel sets, and just throw on whichever one fits what I am going to be riding that day. I will say I think I lose about 1 mph average on a ride over my Spec Roubaix on roads, but it's more stable and comfortable.
