Gray-to-gray pixel response is an excellent 1 millisecond, and input lag&mdash;as measured with a Leo Bodnar Lag Tester&mdash;came in at a good 11.5 milliseconds (ms), not too much longer than the BenQ SW2700PT, which remains our leader with a 9.5ms input lag.

The monitor's viewing angles were less than spectacular; I noticed some dimming at extreme angles. But considering the width of this panel and the immersive effect of gaming with it, you may well not even notice. It's not the kind of display you'll be sitting offsides when viewing; indeed, it's so big that it's hard to get offsides.

The CHG90's speedy 144Hz native refresh rate, achievable only over a DisplayPort connection, can be reduced to 120Hz or 60Hz in the menus. FreeSync 2 allows for variable refresh rate support between 48Hz and 144Hz over DisplayPort, and 48Hz to 100Hz over HDMI. The CHG90 also supports AMD's Low Framerate Compensation technology to provide a smooth experience even below 48Hz.

I thought I would post to share my experience so far with the G9, the good and the bad, as well as some things that worked out for me.  I know much of this is known on this sub, but hopefully can help someone having it all together. 

* Creaking/popping sound from monitor as it heats and cools - commonly reported I know, but after having this for 5 months it has completely stopped.  It didnt bother me too much, but nice to see the back of it...
* The lack of input auto switching is really strange.
* Monitor stand - the orignal stand is way too large and intrusive for me, so I wanted a movable arm style.  The Ergotron is commonly discussed here but I used the WALI Single Monitor Gas Spring Mount Heavy Duty, it's cheaper, it works perfectly and is so good.  The only issue I faced was trying to level the tilt and tighten the bolts at the same time.  This was really difficult and needed two people, but thankfully only needs doing once.  I believe the mount was recommended on here (but unfortunately I can't find it to credit the user), thank you so much whoever you are. 
* Updating firmware - nightmare for many (due to usb drive compatibility issues), although I had an old kingston 16GB that I reformatted to FAT32 and it worked first time.  You have to use the service USB port.
* Light bleed - thankfully none for me.
* Heat - this thing get's really hot.  You can feel it radiating onto your face, even at arms length after using for a few hours.  It is a bit annoying. 
* Flickering - this is what nearly had me sending the monitor back; it was so bad.  I have an RTX 3080 and in the beginning I could not use 240Hz at all, it would black screen.  This was fixed after updating firmware, installing the monitor drivers and Nvidia drivers.  However, it would flicker like hell using G-sync.  I read a lot about how to fix and heard many talk about how the issue was resolved for them when updating to the latest firmware and drivers.  For me, none of this worked at all and was really frustrating.  The thing that resolved it completely for me was to go into Nvidia control panel&gt; Display&gt; set-up G-sync&gt; Display specific settings, and uncheck "Enable settings for the selected display model" (counterintuitive as it had the correct display in here).  Everything is so clear and buttery smooth now.

I love the monitor, and I believe a new one is on it's way in 2021, so hopefully many issues will be cleared and more people can enjoy the unique experience!

EDIT 2: I confirmed this does actually turn this off with G-sync indicator. I see now if you have multiple monitors, how this menu works...</li>

I love the monitor, and I believe a new one is on it&#39;s way in 2021, so hopefully many issues will be cleared and more people can enjoy the unique experience!

UPDATE: The flickering is now gone for me with G-sync on, and I am really happy. Thank you so much to <a href="/u/acidhax">u/acidhax</a> for pointing me at VRR in the monitor OS menu. I missed it after updating all of the firmware, and I&#39;ve done this at least twice.

To turn it on you have to go into the monitor OS Menu&gt;System&gt;scroll all the way down and turn on VRR (it is easily missed if you don&#39;t scroll, which I actually did again yesterday with realising).

Also, I posted this hoping that I could help someone, and this post really helped me too. Thank you to all of you!

My G9 Experience shared, hopefully to help others

 I tell them their technician took pics on their behalf and they have pictures. Ticket reopened. Wait another week, call back, same issue. Cancelled ticket again, same BS reply, I give them hell

 its been over 1.5months of trying to get my $1644.36 . I'm talking with ECR right now

 They've promised me an RMA label 3 times, first time telling me it takes 15 business days, second time, they were "sending a truck for pickup", third time, they didn't know what the other person was thinking and they were sorry, it would be 3-5 business days for RMA label, 4th time got supervisor (Rise ID:126) who admitted samsung RMA dept is having an issue for the past month and is having problems when trying to generate RMA labels and I'm not the only one affected and there is NO ETA of when my RMA label will arrive.  I contacted other teams was escalated to ECR who got me a service ticket for repair. Few days later repair ticket cancelled because they don't work on this kind of monitor. Contact them again, give ECR ticket, they try another facility, same issue, few days later they cancel the ticket

Size does matter with the Gaming Beast.

Upgraded from a X34P to a Odyssey G9 today and wow what a screen it is. I thought 3440x1440 was crazy but this just ludicrous.

 It's costly and you can definitely run dual 1080p 144hz for much much cheaper. But you're paying for the design mostly imo. It's either going to be worth the cost to you or not.  It's not the best gaming panel out there, but it's far from the worst

 So even though the resolution is 3840x1080. I was willing to stick to 1080p for the dual 16:9 setup inside a single frame with no bezels. It was a worthy trade off for a single 16:9 1440p panel. I still got my refresh rate (even though I'm Nvidia, so I can't use Freesync for the extra boost to smoothness)

 Refresh rate being 144hz is a major plus and the response time is actually pretty good too despite it being a VA panel. I mean, most anything is gonna look and perform better than my two ancient pieces of tech this replaced haha. But I've had some hands on with other monitors this past year and the CHG90 is a contender for my purposes. The HDR isn't anything to write home about though

Stunning, though costly with a small caveat

Just picked up my G9 and it has this spot on the right side. Depending on the color it is sometimes just brighter, and sometimes a different color. Somebody else got that? :( could be the problem that was just announced huh?
