If you prefer something for wide seating arrangements, check out the Samsung QN65Q80AAFXZA. Unlike the VA panel on the Hisense U8G, it uses an IPS panel, meaning it has a much better viewing angle. Sadly, this comes at the expense of contrast and black uniformity, so it's not as good in a dark room. It gets extremely bright and has good reflection handling, making a great choice for watching TV shows or sports with many people in well-lit rooms. It's very good for gaming because it also has VRR support and has HDMI 2.1 bandwidth. It has a full-array local dimming feature, but sadly, it doesn't perform that well, and even though it does a good job at improving the contrast, there's still too much blooming around bright objects.

If you want the best TV under $1,500, you can't go wrong with the Hisense, but if you don't mind spending a bit more and have something with a wide viewing angle, look into the Samsung. We tested the 55 inch model of the Samsung, and the 65 inch variant should perform the same.

Smart things needs to be able to connect with smart things.  I should be able to adjust everything with an administrative login page on my phone or tablet without cutting completely out of the picture and sound that is being adjusted. When you set up a Samsung surround sound system in the ARC port it should  Work correctly. My TV has forgotten how to control the stereo several times

 My old remote had a back light on it and the buttons lit up, I loved that thing. Voice activation on this needs to work if that is the main improvement.

The menu is flat,boring, and hard to navigate. It skips back to square one every time you hit the back button. The very limited apps are in a straight line where scrolling takes longer than ever.

 Every once in a while, I'll change it up. And if you are in the whole SmartThings platform with the Samsung, it is built right into this TV to where you can control some of your other devices that are in that SmartThings hub. So that's kind of a neat little feature that you're able to access it right here on your remote through there. So another way is you could always just dive into your phone, download the SmartThings app and do it that way also

 So they're a trusted brand. So it's got all these different options to select different screen savers on there. So we'll go to the ambient mode screen on this right now. Okay, so it's loading and then on here on the bottom, it's got different kinds of features

 So that's kind of a neat little feature that you're able to access it right here on your remote through there. So another way is you could always just dive into your phone, download the SmartThings app and do it that way also. So it gives you so many different ways of being able to access your content and they do it very easily. All right, so for example, right here, this is end game

I want to like it more but I can't.

I did like the solar powered remote (voice feature, app buttons, etc.) after understanding its use.  Some complain its not backlit but memorizing the buttons was easy after a bit.  Bixby worked perfectly

 I do not like this oversimplified, everything on-screen, remote control which is why I'm very thankful that the Samsung remote control for my previous model continues to work and gives me single-button direct access to many of the features I would have to shuffle through to find using the on-screen commands. of course the remote that came with the q80 will not control the volume for whatever reason so it is effectively useless.  Moving on, I am not clear what is wrong with this television, why it will connect to one computer but not to another; why it will show files from one computer but not the other; why it will not play file formats that my 2012 TV would play; or why it always pops up extra menus when I'm simply trying to exit to whatever I'm watching. one laptop will only show a blank screen once I wirelessly connect but I can hear whatever is playing perfectly
