It's very different than most monitors on the market because it has a built-in smart system, essentially making it a 32-inch TV without a tuner. You don't even need to use a computer to watch your favorite content because the Tizen OS built-in smart platform is easy to use and has a ton of apps you can download. It even comes with a remote to navigate the menus, and it has a mic you can use with Alexa and Bixby voice assistants.

In terms of picture quality, it's a great choice for watching movies because it displays deep blacks thanks to its high native contrast ratio and has good black uniformity with minimal blooming. However, it doesn't have a local dimming feature, and the black levels aren't nearly as good as on the OLEDs. Fortunately, it has a 4k resolution that results in sharp detail and crisp images, so you can use it to stream your favorite 4k shows and movies without issue.

 I took my Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra wirelessly project decks to the display and was able to use all 32 inches of screen real estate for a much better productivity experience. And even if you don't have a Tab but let's say a Galaxy phone you can wirelessly project whatever content you're watching to the display or use Samsung's Tap View and Tap Sound in the SmartThings mobile app. As for sound the M8 has built-in speakers, two tweeters and two subwoofers for a 2.2 channel stereo setup

 Samsung also uses Adaptive Sound Plus which analyzes the monitor's surroundings in order to optimize sound effects. The sound quality is much better than most built-in monitor speakers and is a great way to quickly hook up a desktop computer without having to worry about external speakers. Look this is a really cool concept because it takes a dumb traditional monitor and turns it into a smart one. Most importantly is that it really just works with everything regardless of what type of computer or operating system you're using

 The microphone can be used with Bixby or Alexa depending on which voice assistant you choose when you first set up the monitor and is always on even when the display is off. Now if you don't have a device to connect to it you can still get work done by using a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard. Microsoft apps are available along with Samsung's browser essentially turning the M8 into a desktop computer. As for computers it works with both Mac and PC

 But before I begin, I just want to give Samsung a huge thanks for sponsoring this overview. Now the M8 retails for about $700 for the warm white model, but if you want daylight blue, spring green, or sunset pink it will cost an extra $30. Inside the box you get a power brick with power cable, a mini HDMI to full HDMI cable, a USB Type-C cable, Samsung remote, and an external webcam with a Type-C to proprietary connector.  Now it has a USB-C connector so you can connect it to modern laptops with USB-C connections. Also has HDMI, comes with a mini HDMI to standard size HDMI connector. So you can plug it into your PlayStation or to your PC that has HDMI or your most late generation 16 inch MacBook Pro that has HDMI too if you prefer that over USB-C though why you would? I don't know. So there's connectivity

 I must be using some kind of NFC or I don't know what. Anyway, and it'll automatically start casting your phone over to the screen too. So you can have that picture in a picture like you saw. But also it supports Samsung DeX

 So when you set this up, it can be a whole lot of steps to enter your Wi-Fi in manually and log into your Samsung account if you wish to do so. They don't force you to do that. Or you can just grab your Samsung phone, like I did, and expedite the setup. And then you can use the SmartThings app, which you can install on other phones, and you can just tap

It’s a “cool” monitor but lacks function

 Now unlike a lot of other reviews on YouTube about this monitor, I am in no way working with Samsung. They did not send this to me. I bought it with my own money and I'm going to give you my brutally honest opinion about this monitor because I want to let you know if it's worth your time and money. So I'm going to go over all the monitor's features, how everything works, and you're going to walk away from this video knowing everything you need to know about this monitor

 So let me explain to you how I got to this conclusion. I definitely do think that the cons outweigh the pros on this monitor and that's why I wouldn't recommend it but let me tell you the things that I did like about the monitor first. I did like the fact that it had multiple ways to connect to it. Not only do you get the two inputs in the back to physically connect to it but you can also connect to it wirelessly and you can also stream on this device

 It uses a VA panel type. It's got Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 5. It has a 65 watt USB charging feature and it's running Samsung's Tizen OS
