I'm pretty happy with my Tacx Vortex purchased for $200 (with a Victoria trainer tire thrown in) from Facebook Marketplace.   It seems robust.

(But I've never tried the direct drive trainers, so maybe I don't know what I'm missing.  It's a lot more fun than my old Cyclops fluid trainer.)

Works well on Wahoo Systm (formerly Sufferfest), Zwift, etc.  Plus Wahoo has it's own app if you don't want to pay a monthly fee from the other guys. 

Doesn't get loud unless I'm doing some short, sprint intervals.  Pretty quiet for Z2 riding at my wattage.

After much looking I finally pulled the trigger on a kickr snap. Rei has a holiday discount code for 20% off , so it was 400 brand new - best price I could find. I really wanted a smart trainer and wheel on is perfectly sufficient for amateur/newbie. It was a really easy set up and I was zwifting within a half hour

I am new to triathlons, and don't have a lot of money in the budget for an expensive indoor cycling trainer (I wish though! Some of the nice ones look cool!) What are some of the cheaper options out there that you would recommend? It seems like the really cheap ones tend to be very loud and don't last very long, so sounds like the best option is a middle of the road trainer?

Bike trainer recommendations?

Really nice unit

I am planning on selling my truck this year. It has been my main vehicle for getting me and my bike to everywhere to ride but the market is to good not to. I also have a Subaru WRX that I will transition to my daily. I was planning on having a trailer receiver installed so I could mount a bike rack. 

This is where I need help. There are so many out there I have no idea which ones are decent or not. I would rather not get one from amazon because the reviews all seem..off. What are you experiences with rack and what do you recommend? Also! what diameter receiver? Thanks!

  Update. It took a few weeks to speak with Saris, but it sounds like it was bad bearing. They have sent out a replacement unit. Not happy with the original quality, but happy with customer service

 I can't register the warranty without it.  I've called Saris many times (customer support is only available 10-3 M-F). I am placed in queue while a recorded message tells me over and over how important my call is to them (ha!), and I am automatically disconnected after ten minutes. I have tried emailing customer support but again, NO REPLY

  But in order to register the warranty, I need to enter a "Date Code", which is supposed to be printed on the box. It is nowhere to be found, on or in the box. I can't register the warranty without it.  I've called Saris many times (customer support is only available 10-3 M-F)

Good design, solidly built.

 There is some noise but not enough to bother me since I live in a house not an apartment. My one complaint is that I have a through axle bike and they did not include A skewer compatible for through axle. According to a bike shop I spoke with in Arkansas that uses Sarris trainers, it should have been included. Customer service with Sarris has been terrible in trying to obtain this part! I have tried calling and I have been on hold for well over 30 minutes without answer
