  I settled on a Sealy Essentials cushion firm.  He told me it was on sale, and I got the boxspring for free. I paid $699.

After sleeping on this mattress for 1 night I had horrible back pain.  I looked online and saw the SAME mattress at other retailers for $300-500!!   I called them up and they insisted this was a Sealy "Qualified" cushion firm and the normal price is $899.  And there's no way anyone has it cheaper.  Of course there are no sealy qualified cushion firms online to compare to

I like it but it is really firm. So firm that I think I need a light mattress pad, otherwise I just wake up 5 or 6 times every night to change my position. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but I can also see a lump forming where I sleep. I'm not even a big person (140lbs)

Not recommend buying a mattress through online shopping

 It's arguably better than a mattress that cost twice as much that was purchased at a warehouse store. The Sealy doesn't feel like it's going to have immediate problems with permanent indentations that some mattresses are prone to. My only hesitation in fully recommending this mattress is that mattresses are one of those things that you won't really know if it works for you until you try it for a while. What works for me might not work for the next person, so being able to return the mattress if it doesn't work is key and I just don't know what the return and exchange policy is for this mattress

A good value for a comfortable mattress

 this was the closest i could get at an affordable price. no buyers remorse. i haven't had it that long, so i hope it holds up. if you register it online you will receive as a free gift a $75

 it is very supportive, has very little movement bounce and has provided me with great sleep. it was hard finding a non plush non pillow top/ i like tight top with coil inside. this was the closest i could get at an affordable price. no buyers remorse

You cannot do this with a mattress alone, not would you want to. We've all tried: you get the mattress that feels great in the store, and then 6 months later it softens up in the middle, and starts trying to fold your body onto an uppercase U while you sleep

Ignore the mixed reviews for this mattress: people think they want a firm mattress, and then they're upset when they get it. They're weak.  This mattress is a brick, as it should be. Here's why this is good: it gives you all the support you need, and lets you fine-tune it to your comfort with a mattress topper

 And it's firm enough that you will keep your shape.  You will likely want a mattress topper. This could be a fluffy down thing, egg crate foam, or my preference, memory foam. Sleeping without a mattress topper is only slightly more forgiving than sleeping on a carpeted floor: it's going to keep your back from acting up, but it can be rough on your joints

  You cannot do this with a mattress alone, not would you want to. We've all tried: you get the mattress that feels great in the store, and then 6 months later it softens up in the middle, and starts trying to fold your body onto an uppercase U while you sleep. You spent hundreds of dollars, and got less than a year of good sleep for you investment. That's for chumps
