If you’re getting the xm3s, you WON’T need an amp. The sound stage isn’t good imo. If you want sound quality, there’s other cheaper picks such as the sennheiser 450BT. Sony really nailed the xm3 in ANC but definitely not in sound quality.

Sennheiser HD 450BT Wireless

The Sennheiser HD 450BT are alright wireless over-ear headphones. While they have a similarly sleek and decently built design as the Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC, they offer over 24 hours of continuous battery life which is outstandingly long

Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC Wireless review: A worthy Bose competitor at a better price

I didn't notice a big difference in sound quality when going wired, but you will save some battery by turning off the Bluetooth. Battery life is rated at 19 hours with Bluetooth and noise canceling activated (or 25 hours with Bluetooth off), which is quite decent though not exceptionally good.  The headphone does perform well as a headset

Worth considering other options

I enjoyed music quality and comfort as well as BT5.0 and USB C charging. Battery life is solid and it is easy to pair and use. Some call the controls complicated and though I agree the play/pause button isn't well done, I adjusted in a few days and was mostly fine. I did contact support for help wit...

WON'T STOP NOTIFYING OF TIME LEFT

I've had these headphones since October and when I first got them they were fantastic. Now the return window has closed and these freaking headphones won't stop randomly turning off. They will also repeatedly give a warning "you have between 6 and 12 hours remaining". ALL THE TIME. I spent so much m...

Shame Shame

Don’t buy these unless you want to to be reminded constantly of all the devices it ISN’T connected to. 9 miles away from the phone they’re originally paired to? Get ready to hear “lost connection” until you can disconnect/unpair it at source. Got something else to connect to? Don’t worry, they’ll ke...

Great headphones but...

I use these for listening to music and phone calls. Overall great quality headphones: Pros: App to adjust bass/treble - great for most audiophiles but I haven't used it (some have stated that the app isn't that good). Aesthetically pleasing - minimal design looks good. Sound Quality - very good, tho...
