 Once I got used to the faux surround, I liked it with movies, but you can toggle between the faux surround and the standard stereo modes and decide which one you like best. While there are cheaper Bluetooth options for using wireless headphones while watching TV, this Sennheiser is a good option for someone looking for a strong performing wireless headphone that doesn't have any latency issues and offers extended range. Are there any wireless gaming headsets that actually sound good?

 Luckily I had an optical cable for my sound bar. I was able to use that, reconfigure things, and determine that the provided optical cable was faulty.  Issue #3: The rechargeable batteries provided are defective. Again, it took some troubleshooting to figure out why the headphones weren't working

 The Bass and Surround sound buttons do weird things to the sound that, to my ears, did nothing to enhance the experience. Maybe those are good for action movies? I tested them on a news program; the headphones certainly did not improve quality of the sound nor the quality of the news.  As for comfort, I found them a bit heavy and I think they'll hurt my head after an hour or so but I think that's mostly an individual thing. I don't like wearing headphones in general and they all start to hurt after a while

 The padding is nice and they fit around the ear and not over the ear so they do a pretty good job of buffering outside noise which allows one to keep the headphone volume to a minimum and avoid eardrum damage. But in terms of quality of sound or feel or buffering of outside noise I don't find these of any higher quality or any more comfortable than less expensive headphones I've owned over the years. The one thing these have over those others -- they're wireless.  If I had to do all over again I'd probably avoid these and try a different model or maybe even a different brand

 The RS175 is certainly comparable to many similarly priced wired headphones. With the standard unaltered settings, bass is very well controlled and has plenty of impact. Mid-range is more prominent than the older RS170 model, improving speech with video and harmonics with music. Treble is crisp and clear without being harsh

Ever since I broke my razer headset I've been using my Corsair void pro, it is great but the head gets very uncomfortable to use after an hour or 2 because if I move a little the headset unadjusts itself being uneven and one of my ears hurts afterwards.

Looking for a wireless option since I broke my razer krakens years ago tripping over the cord causing the headset to fall a lot of times. Birthday is coming up next month and I'm looking for an upgrade. I'm thinking about the nari ultimates, but I've seen some complaining about it not being sturdy by the ear cups.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in forehead.

Looking for a new headset

. Sent the headphones back to Sennheiser under warranty. Thankfully, they give a 2 year warranty, which is much longer than most electronic equipment. It was easy to get an RA from their online platform and to get their UPS label for printing

 They're warranty department is easy and responsive, but I simply do not trust wireless headphones from Sennheiser. I'll update after the warranty department does it's thing again.  UPDATE.

 I suppose spending almost $300 isn't good enough for a quality wireless product. Currently going round and round with Sennheiser and their warranty. I'm afraid I'll be stuck with a replacement that I don't want. I sure wish I would have put the same money into a far superior wired set

 For the price and the brand I expected to be blown away by the sound which really isn't the case. If you can only use the analogue input then save your money, it's not worth it.  Also the range Sennheiser claims for this product is absurd. While where I sit I don't experience any disconnections (about 30 feet from the base unit), I did try to walk around my apartment (one floor, not that big), and very soon you can't hear a thing

So after two months of use I'm happy with the product, however it is way overpriced as I see it. The sound quality is good but no more that (and I'm no audiophile), and ONLY if you're able to use the optical input. For the price and the brand I expected to be blown away by the sound which really isn't the case. If you can only use the analogue input then save your money, it's not worth it

I have a few family members with various degrees of hearing loss. To make things more interesting, other family members have extreme sensitivity to loud sounds. It's basically impossible for us to find a volume that works for everyone on movie nights.

I'd like to offer headphones to those who need them, while allowing the rest of the family to listen through speakers at a low/moderate volume.

We currently have an ancient soundbar + subwoofer, so I'm ready to junk that and replace the entire audio setup in our living room.

I looked into wireless headphone solutions, but it seems impossible to find an amp (or just a smart TV) that will send audio to both speakers and multiple wireless devices at the same time. Plus, Bluetooth has all kinds of issues like quality, latency, and general flakiness.

So my current plan is to find an affordable amp + 5.1 or 7.1 speakers, then also run a hard-wired audio out to a small mixer in our seating area. From there I can pop in some trusty Sony MDR-7506s.

My questions are:

1. Does this seem like the right plan? Am I over-complicating or missing anything obvious?

2. What would be the best way to run audio out of the amp? A lot of the cheaper Denons, for example, only have HDMI out. Can I run HDMI to a mixer? Are there small mixers that accept HDMI audio in?

3. At what point in the signal flow do I fold a Dolby surround stream down to Stereo/LtRt for the headphones? Are there amps that can do this? Should I be looking for a mixer with this feature?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Speakers + multiple headphones for hearing impaired family

 On the Samsung Menu Sound Option. Very important, as it took me an hour to figure out what settings to use as my first hookup with the headphones was dead silent and there was nobody to help me at Samsung or Sennheiser:  a. Sound Mode: Up to you, but I like "Movie" for the better base in most movies and 4K series on Prime or Netflix.  b

  2. I can take them to any room in the house within 30 feet upstairs or downstairs and not miss a sound. No sound dropouts anywhere, even the garage, bathroom, or outside.  3

 My Audio delay is set to 100 ms with my HD Audio: OFF. You may need to play with these depending on your speaker/Soundbar setup.  PROS:  1. Great sound fidelity and reproduction
