 There's two torso sizes. So you have a medium long which is this and then you have a small medium and on the website you'll get some detail on how to measure a torso to make sure you get the right size backpack. There's also interchangeable hip belts that are available. There are four different sizes on here so hopefully with the right size torso length and also the size of the hip belt you can really get a well fitting backpack without going to a customised backpack that may take you a very long time to get hold of

 A lot of the lighter packs tend to just be straight onto the actual pack itself and that can cause quite a sweaty back in warm weather or maybe not even warm weather, sometimes you don't need warm weather for that. We've got two mesh stretch pockets here to put in drinks, camera, phone, what have you, snacks and this again, this is where it's different from last year's model because there was only one so another addition is a nice feature there. You've got the sternum strap as well, easy adjustment system and you can really get this down nicely on your hips. Nice large pockets on each side of the hip to put all your bits and pieces in during the day, whatever that might be and then if we come round to the top, you've got a large top lid pocket here, plenty of room to put all your bits and pieces for the day, wind shirt, maybe a bit of food, utensils, whatever you might want, sun cream, bug lotion, all that sort of stuff in there

 So those are all the ones on our site. Just to summarise then, I think this is a really well designed backpack, a lot of thought gone into this, it's very comfortable to wear and actually at 1.2 kilos is not the lightest pack in the world but certainly not heavy given all of the benefits you've got in here. Light backpacks which are uncomfortable are a lot worse than let's say comfortable backpacks that weigh just a little bit more and I think this is a great backpack

 All in all, it's a very comfortable pack. It rides well. And yeah, so once it's in place, it doesn't really budge. But yeah, you can cinch this thing down more if you really need to

 I can get to it very, very quickly and put it back in with ease. So good job on Sierra Designs on that design because that is an industry standard struggle for decades. All in all, it's a very comfortable pack. It rides well

The Sierra Designs Flex Capacitor is one badass backpack. I have used it in Big Sur and several other places now for the last 6 months and I am impressed with how well it carries weight, the flexibility, and overall design but my favorite design is the double water bottle pockets on the shoulder straps.

Sierra Designs Flex Capacitor 40-60L Backpack Gear Review

Re-design the external straps to have pivot points where they are threaded through the pack, rather than being one continuous strap. The current design just threads the outside straps through two metal eyelets, which makes it a guessing game which side of the strap you have tightened down.

Increase the size of the upper zipper pocket to function more like a brain. The current pocket is too small to really be fully functional.

Great all-around backpacking backpack!

 For me personally as a 1.88 meter tall guy or 6 foot 2, the ML version of the pack has been just perfect. The material of the pack is a 100D nylon pulley ripstop and 420D nylon oxford, which has been proven to be very sold in other packs. I did however have one major problem with the right backpack strap, which simply broke off after hiking halfway on the Pacific Crest Trail

 Here is what I like about the pack. It is super lightweight for its load capacity. It has a great design with flexible sizing options. It is very comfortable

 After around 10 years of hiking, I have used many different packs in my life and I can safely say that the Flex Capacitor has been the most comfortable of them all so far. The hip belts and cushioning at the back are very thick and soft without making the pack too heavy. It is actually quite remarkable how lightweight this backpack is despite being able to carry heavy loads and also having a lot of extra features. The most notable are the smaller hip belt and strap pockets as well as the larger side pockets

Sierra Designs Flex Capacitor 40-60 [lightweight backpack]

Sent me the wrong color, but still a great pack

 These offer utility to secure things like snow shovels and trekking poles. They also allow you to further compress the volume of the pack which improves its load carrying performance. The Flex Capacitor has six exterior pockets all generously sized and easily accessible with two hip belt pockets, two side pockets, top lid pocket and my personal favorite is this shoulder strap pocket that's ideal for a 20 ounce water bottle or for a can of bear spray. One of my favorite features of the Flex Capacitor is the zipper top lid

 I've used mine in Glacier National Park, the Canyons of Southern Utah and throughout the Colorado Rockies both in the summer and the winter. Looking forward to seeing you on the trail with yours.

The Flex Capacitor 40-60 Pack has a full suspension frame, six exterior pockets, an easy in/out top lid, a simple but functional utility and compression system, and a unique gusset on its front side that can be used to adjust its volume between 40 and 60 liters, which is the difference of nearly two BV500 bear canisters.

Most backpackers will find the Flex Capacitor suitable for trips between two and seven days. Those who pack more deliberately can extend its range between five and fourteen days. Due to its adjustable volume, the Flex is nearly two packs in one.

It weighs just 2.5 pounds and costs $200. It was co-developed with Andrew Skurka, a National Geographic "Adventurer of the Year."

 Very cool that you have freedom to go between two different sized bags. Frame and hip belt are both removable for an even lighter pack for a quick day hike.

Seems like a great pack. Purchased for a thru hike that I haven’t gone on yet so I haven’t gotten too much time with it. But it’s comfortable when loaded. Plenty of ventilation on the back and the pockets are nice

 I was able to secure/compress the contents of my pack using the many straps on the face of the bag- nothing shook around inside as I hiked. This makes it much easier to keep  balanced and feel in control when hiking. 

Ordered this bag for a hiking trip and it was the most comfortable bag of my group. It is very lightweight which was a concern when I unboxed it but the material is durable (just keep sharp objects from poking at it!).
