First wide-angle to standard zoom lens to achieve a large aperture of 1.8 Due to the very shallow depth of field (DOF) of fast glass and focus variation between the cameras, users may experience focus shift and inconsistent AF. This can be fixed by using the AF fine tune ( For Nikon System) or AF Micro Adjustment( For Canon System) in the camera’s Menu to calibrate the lens to specific cameras.  And so it's not a cheap lens, but at the same time, as I said, it blows most of the other lenses designed for an EFS system, it blows them away optically, and of course has a wider aperture than what any of them do, and so it's valuable in that regard. I also want to just continue to beat the drum of thanking Sigma for including nice padded cases with each one of their lenses. It's a great touch. I don't know how much it cost Sigma, but I doubt it cost them all that much, but it certainly generates a lot of goodwill, and I wish that other manufacturers would do something similar

 And so, I think that this lens has paid dividends, and Sigma, it swung for the fences with this lens when it designed. It's designated as one of the art series, and at this stage, I don't have to really elaborate on Sigma's art series, because they have become renowned as some really premium lenses with exceptional image quality, and this lens is no exception. I don't have issue with other lenses. And so anyway, take that for what it's worth

 If you are looking for basically the Rolls Royce of crop sensor specific lens you shoot on a crop sensor body, and you want something different, you know, you still want some versatility in your zoom range, but you want basically prime lenses. This is like having multiple prime lenses. I think that it's a worthy investment, and may well be perhaps the best lens you can buy for a crop sensor specific lens available right now, and so kudos to Sigma for being bold and doing things that other companies are not doing, and giving us some great products like this. I also look forward to attesting the 24-35mm shortly

 So, I have to say that what Sigma has accomplished here, no matter how you slice it, was taking a chance, doing something unique, and I think that it's paid dividends for them. As we speak right now, coming to market is the new lens from Sigma that is doing something similar in the full frame, and so it's going to cover an even smaller focal length, and the aperture is not quite as wide f2, but it's a full frame that will give you the equivalent coverage of some very important focal lengths, including 24mm, 28mm, and 35mm, which are all important focal lengths in full frame. And so, I think that this lens has paid dividends, and Sigma, it swung for the fences with this lens when it designed. It's designated as one of the art series, and at this stage, I don't have to really elaborate on Sigma's art series, because they have become renowned as some really premium lenses with exceptional image quality, and this lens is no exception

 If you do purchase a lens, and I do think that it's worth, please understand I'm not writing this lens off. It's an amazing lens, but you need to find a copy that is going to, that you can rely on. If you're a working professional, you need to find a copy, even if you have to go through a couple of them, that is going to be properly calibrated to your body and give consistent results. One asset to help with that is the Sigma USB dock, and it does help you to further calibrate the lens to your specific body at some different focal lengths, and it goes beyond just what an AFMA adjustment will do within the body

What is an absolutly must have canon lens?

8 the lens scores 2,470 lines, and it peaks at f/4 at 2,690 lines. At 28mm the lens manages 2,457 lines at f/1.8 and improves to 2,562 lines by f/4. Zooming all the way in to 35mm delivers 2,399 lines at f/1

 So in this lens review, we're going to be looking at the highly anticipated Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 DC art lens. Now DC stands for digitally cropped, which means this lens is designed for the APS-C style sensors. You can't necessarily use it on a full frame camera because you get this incredibly strong vignetting as you can see here

 Now this obviously comes free with a lot of cameras, but if you did want to go and buy it separately, this comes in at £179. But to be honest, this is a crap lens compared to this lens here. Next we've got is the Sigma 24-35mm F2. Now this is a really good full frame lens

 Now DC stands for digitally cropped, which means this lens is designed for the APS-C style sensors. You can't necessarily use it on a full frame camera because you get this incredibly strong vignetting as you can see here. So all of the photos that I've taken with this lens were taken on my Canon 7D. But is this lens any good and should you buy over any of the full frame lenses out there? Like for instance, the 17-55mm or even the 24-70mm

 This is one of the very first art lenses designed by Sigma. And I must say, ever since they kind of changed their ethos from making very cheap budget lenses to more of a premium metal lenses, I have loved their change. The very first Sigma lens I ever bought was the Sigma 35mm f1.4

What are some “must have lenses” for the Canon 90D

Hello! This is my first post here, so I appreciate any and all advice and questions!

I currently have a Nikon d3500 with kit lenses. I am looking to buy a 24-70 or two lenses that will fit the bill that a 24-70 would fit. I do portrait, street, and landscape photography. I am confident in the lenses I already have for street photography, but would love to get a 24-70 f/2.8 that can cover all my portrait and most of my landscape needs. However, my budget is extremely limited, as a I am a broke college student. I am looking one lense that is less than $500 usd or multiple $50-$250 lenses, which can be prime, that can cover what I would use the lenses for. I value the low f/stop for the blur effect with portrait photos but don't necessarily need the low f/stop for the landscape/urban photos. F/2.8 is the highest I will go for the portrait photography. Any advice would be awesome! 

I am considering a Helios lens for the portrait photography, but the general lack of autofocus intimidates me because my eyesight is poor. It can also be difficult to ensure that I am getting one of the higher quality versions of this lens.

Budget alternatives 24-70 f/2.8 for Nikon d3500

 The zoom ring is nicely weighted, and the focus ring doesn't stick or feel loose while manually focusing like some modern lenses can. The AF/MF switch is in just the right place when holding the camera, and has a positive click. The AF is also quick and nearly silent (only the photographer would hear it) for photo use. A bit noisy for video with the camera's built-in mic, so you'll want to use an external mic instead

  In the end, if you're thinking about getting this lens, the only question on your mind should be "is 35mm long enough for me?" As far as anything else in the equation, Sigma has you covered better than anyone else. If 35mm is long enough, there's no reason to hold off on this lens. If not, go out and get this lens and a 50mm prime! ;)  PS: I'd HIGHLY recommend getting the Sigma USB Dock with this lens, at only $60 extra. All zooms are known to be a bit off on focus on one end or the other to varying extents

  I purchased the Sigma USB Dock for Sony A-mount lenses (not available on Amazon at the time) when I initially purchased this lens, and calibrated it so focus was spot on. Took a few hours to complete, due to the multiple focal lengths vs calibrating a prime. But all of that work did nothing to improve the accuracy on moving subjects. I learned that the hard when when I shot an event the weekend after receiving the lens

5 Stars Isn't Enough! (EDIT:  3 Stars Until Replacement; See Review)

 In terms of sharpness and image quality the Sigma 18 to 35 millimeter has to be one of the best especially for the cost which we will talk about in a minute. With a focal range of 18 millimeters to 35 millimeters some say it isn't the most flexible range in the world but I have found that it provides enough range in most circumstances. It basically provides three prime lenses and one zoom lens being an 18 millimeter f1.8, a 24 millimeter f1

 The performance level is like that of a prime lens as well with such sharp images at such a fast aperture with the convenience of not having to switch the lenses. With it being a constant f1.8 aperture this lens works really well in low-light situations as well where maybe the lighting isn't the greatest or it's at night. In my experience I've personally found that the 18 to 35 millimeter focal range works well in all of the filming scenarios I have done with it

 The autofocus has worked great even with the new Eye Autofocus technology and the fact that I can use this on my full-frame camera is a bonus. All of these features and specs and the lens still comes in under a thousand dollars here in Canada. The Sigma 18 to 35 millimeter f 1.8 art lens deserves the highest appraises for being such an amazing lens and if you are in the market for a new lens I would recommend this one every single time

 Sigma also used many high-end features and components making this a pro-grade APS-C format lens. In my opinion the Sigma Art lenses are some of the most attractive on the market with matching design and functionality. The build quality of the Sigma 18 to 35 millimeter is no exception and it is built like a tank. Due to the exceptional build quality though it is as heavy as a tank as well weighing 810 grams or 1
