 All right so before tearing the box open we might as well take a quick look and see what's on here. So we got a picture of the power supply and then not much else on the back is what you really want to see. So on the top here we have the specifications as you can tell it's an 80 plus platinum power supply and it reaches peak efficiency at around 50 percent so roughly 500 watts which is perfect for a high-end system. It's got all Japanese capacitors and it actually has a fan curve built in so it doesn't spin up until about 200 watts and then it gradually goes up so that's really cool if you want to build a silent system

 And then you got a single 12 volt rail and the cables of course as you can see here which we're going to take a look at. Now I just got this power supply but mine doesn't have a seal on it so that's kind of weird I guess but let's go ahead and open it up. All right so here you got the manual another manual warranty information all right let's get straight to it. Okay it is quite heavy which is good

 All right we got a bunch of cables here so here is the power cord pretty thick I don't know what gauge it is but it does seem really thick so that's kind of cool so it actually took me a few minutes to organize the cables but I'll show you guys what we got so it's a 24 pin cable you also get two 8 pin EPS cables for the CPU really nice touch in case you want to overclock and you also get three separate cables for the graphics card so these are all six plus two and you get total of six so six eight pins for your graphics card and then you also have two separate cables for SATA and each one has four SATA plugs and lastly you also get a molex and of course the most importantly you also get a floppy power and that's about it in terms of the cables now I must say even though I like the power supply so far even though I haven't tested it I'm not really a fan of the cables like I mentioned earlier if you're going to be getting this power supply you're probably a really high-end enthusiast and you're probably going to want to show off all your components it is quite an expensive power supply and I would hope they would include sleeved cables so for myself I'm going to add an extra 100 just for the price of buying the sleeved cables but let me show you guys an example here so this is a cable from the Corsair SF 750 and as you can see it's all nice and sleeved comparing it to this over here so as you can see here quite a difference in my opinion let me know what you guys would pick all right so before I plug it in I really want to test it out and check out the fan curve and see how loud it is before doing so I just wanted to give you guys a quick size comparison versus the SF 750 which is probably the other power supply you might be considering so here is the length difference as you can see the width is exactly the same so let me just take my professional ruler here and measure the difference all right so it is exactly three centimeters longer than the SF 750 so honestly that's still really good for pretty much any cases that support an SFX power display this should fit although definitely double check it but yeah I'm going to go ahead and plug it in and see how it runs so let's check that out all right so I apologize for the mess but I have the power supply set up here I'm going to boot up into windows and run a game and I also have it plugged into the wattage meter here so let's see when it starts spinning up so the system I have here is an RTX 3090 and a core i5 now just the graphics card alone is definitely going to pull some serious wattage we're running idle at about 150 watts just below that 200 watt threshold so I'm going to click on play now and let's see what happens all right so the game is loading up I don't see any difference in wattage yet oh we just hit 230 and there it is the fan is starting to spin up so in between 200 and 300 is kind of the threshold it starts spinning up at so I'm in the menu right now and we're at about 400 watts so it's definitely getting used up there let me see if I can hear it I mean it isn't loud by any means but it's definitely audible okay so I've been playing some Doom here we're at around 420 watts or so so let's see what it sounds like I'm just going to put my microphone right up against the fan definitely not the loudest part in the system so yeah so far really happy with it let's see how it holds up in the long run I'm going to close the game and see if it starts spinning down yep so there it is as soon as it starts going below 250 watts or so the fan starts spinning down so everything seems to be working properly for now but yeah thanks so much for watching that little test guys all right so the Silverstone SX 1000 LPT this is definitely a niche product for the high-end enthusiasts so I'm not too sure if they're going to be making many of these but I was lucky enough to grab one and so far I really like it it seems to be working great but I will definitely post an update if I find anything new or interesting about it if you'd like also stay tuned I'm going to be posting a build using this power supply soon so definitely check that out but yeah thanks for watching this short clip guys I hope you enjoyed it feel free to leave any questions and I will see you on the next one.

 It is a fully modular PSU, compact dimensions, as I've already mentioned, SFX-L form factor with only 130mm depth. Price, the unfortunate part, it's over $300. It's very expensive, the smaller the PSU and the more power it delivers, the more expensive. Warranty, 5 years, and it has only one single 12V rail, so it can deliver all 1000 vans

 And finally, there are no in-cable caps, thankfully. Internal design, the platform's design is interesting and clean, despite the high power density of the platform. Enhanced electronics, the OEM used quite large heatsinks on the primary side, with perforations on the APFC heatsink to allow airflow to the components installed below it. In addition, there are two main transformers installed in parallel to handle the unit's increased power output

 It is the SX-1000 Platinum. OEM, enhanced electronics, efficiency, Cybernetics Platinum and AT Plus Platinum, and noise, Cybernetics Standard Plus, meaning 35 to 40 dBA output.  Average efficiency, the SX1000 scores high there. It just needs some tuning at lower loads, from 20 to 80 V range. An average PF, the APFC converter has good performance with 115 V input, but doesn't perform that well with 230 V. The average noise output is higher than 35 dBA because of the loud fan operation under high loads

 Then it would not power up the computer at all. Bought a competitors replacement, at a lower wattage rating, and computer powered up fine and is running fine. I have started the RMA process. I am disappointed that the Silverstone SX1000 developed problems after only 4 months of use

 9/1/22 Update; Started experiencing power on issue about 8 to 9 weeks ago. It was really an annoyance more then anything until the random shut downs started in the last 10 to 14 days. Then it would not power up the computer at all. Bought a competitors replacement, at a lower wattage rating, and computer powered up fine and is running fine

 The premium paid for the SX1000 seems reasonable to expect better reliability.. I will provide another update after RMA.

Powers my gaming pc and quiet! and then it Broke after 4 months of use.

 It's going to go in the Lian Li PC011 dynamic mini and in the mini case will accept a regular ATX size motherboard, but you have to run an SFX power supply and it can be a regular FSX or an FXX long power supply. Now I've opened the box, I've kind of glanced at it, but I have not actually gone through everything. I can pull my, pull my Dr. Power Meter out and we'll plug this thing in and make sure everything's supposed to, everything's operating like it's supposed to find out, make sure everything's good, so all right, let's open this thing up and let you guys see it

 Now this power supply does have three or five, if you really want to get down to it, but the motherboard we're running has, I do believe it has two or it might have an eight and a four pin CPU power. So this has five CPU slash PCIe powers. So I can run three of the graphics cards, two to the motherboard. Won't use any IDE or SATA

 Let's see, is that a, does it come with any four pins? I guess it does come with a four pin or two, but I'm not worried about that. So let's just plug this one into here now. So we've got our tester. We'll get this plugged in down here and we will get that out of the way

1St look at the New Silverstone SX1000 SFX-L PSU

I had to buy this PSU for my build because the Lian Li 011D Mini has to use a SFX PSU and since I was running a pretty power hungry GPU and CPU, I really only had one option. To get the bad out of the way, my only gripe with this PSU is it seems like you can't use another companies cables with this PSU. I tried to use some EVGA VGA cables and they would not connect to the PSU. Weird for a supposed modular PSU

 It provides all the power my PC can ask for and it's pretty much silent even under load. Can't ask for much more.

Great PSU, could be better for the price

 For me, I hear the high-pitch sound when playing Cyberpunk 2077 and Warframe. Other power-intensive games or mining are fine, running without such noises. I got a replacement but still get this sound. Not sure what is the fix cause it only applies to some softwares, but the PSU works fine, the only 1000w SFX! Hope the noise fades away

Not Noisy but Coil Whine Sometimes
