 I mean it's great. It's pretty much what we've come to expect from Spider Coast Taichung Taiwan Factory. You know blade came perfectly centered. Grind is nice, perfectly even

 And they have included a lanyard hole here for you lanyard guys. Alright, I'll run through some quick dimensions while I throw some knives on the table for size comparison. Overall length on the Techno 2 is 5.99 inches

 So I think that's cool. And this one is made in Spyderco's Taichung Taiwan factory. The Techno 2 is a titanium frame lock that runs on phosphor bronze washers. We have green anodized titanium standoffs

 Alright so the first thing that, you know and the reason I was so excited to get this knife is because I had the original Techno and I mean I liked it. There was definitely things about it that I didn't like for sure and that's why the original Techno, I had one, I sold it, I bought it again and then I sold it again and you know for a handful of different reasons that I'll mention throughout this review but the reason I was so excited about this one was because of the upgrade in the blade and that is my favorite thing about the Techno too. So there's really no sharp corners anywhere. So that's good

Knife Review: Spyderco Techno 2

So let's hear it. What are your unpopular knife opinions? Personally I think Rockstead Knives look like gas station knives.

 While Spyderco claims the new Version 2 is improved, I suspect the differences have more to do with reducing manufacturing cost. Whereas the Version 1 blade was stout with 4.5 mm thickness, a significant part of its overall design, Version 2 is substantially thinner at 3.5 mm

 (The amount of high tech CTS-XHP steel used is probably the biggest single cost in the bill of materials.) In addition the blade shape has been adjusted to drop the point a bit. A blue polymer spacer has been replaced with two tiny beads; the polymer looked nicer.  Most significant, V1 also has a distinctly better gripping design, with a little notch (choil) to rest the forefinger on the rear bottom of the blade

Spyderco had a hit with the Techno 1 design by the Polish craftsman Marcin Slysz, which was compact but elegantly shaped with a thick, chunky Euro feel. So now the Techno 2 is out; how does it differ and why was it modified?  Version 1 was beautiful, thought out with precision in every detail. While Spyderco claims the new Version 2 is improved, I suspect the differences have more to do with reducing manufacturing cost. Whereas the Version 1 blade was stout with 4

Is Techno Version 2 better than V1? No, it's not.

 Maybe six and an eighth and it looks like the blade is going to come in at maybe just shy of two and three quarters where the cutting edge is going to be about two and a half inches. Really cool size there. Let's get a weight real quick with the official Metal Complex channel scale that I love using. Techno 2 coming in at 3

 Life could reasonably throw at me. My own biases and preferences come into play. Some days I find a justification for knives like the Socom Elite, which is kind of ridiculous. It's absolutely ridiculous, but I love that knife

 The Techno 2 is a knife that I could justify and feel good about, have that pride of having something premium in my pocket, having something fun to play with and cool and something I feel I could absolutely get any job done that life would throw at me, most likely. It's a small knife. It creates a small footprint. That's really cool

 This is a fairly thick stock coming in at, I'm going to guess, it's probably a little thinner than the PM2. Pretty similar. It's a little bit thinner than the PM2, but you can see there, look at the tip. This style blade, this sheep's foot, it's not quite a sheep's foot if you read that pamphlet there, but you have some incredible tip strength on a little knife

Are they better now? Also what should my first one be? I like all metal scales, don't like overlays, and I love myself a smooth action and strait edge. Need help with Spyderco

Too small for my large hands

 Obviously, it's definitely larger, both in blade length and overall. Next up is the Chafferral, which I think is kind of an in-betweener knife. It's not medium and it's not small. So that's a medium size blade

47 inches or 12 millimeters. Blade stock, it's fairly chunky for the size, 0.138 inches or three and a half millimeters. And the weight on this is reported to be 3

 And with that, let's get started. I would say this knife falls into the small category. It has a blade length of just over two and a half inches, 2.52 inches or 64 millimeters, with a closed length of just under three and a half inches, 3

Spyderco Techno 2 Review - C158TI2

One of the greatest EDC blades known to mankind

 Either it was intentionally and maliciously swapped or, at a minimum, did not have any quality control checks performed prior to shipping. Sad day.

literally the antithesis of what I had bought and payed for. The Amazon box was fine but the inside Spyderco box appeared to have been previously opened and then taped shut with the wrong knife inserted because the Spyderco box even said Techno 2 on it. Either it was intentionally and maliciously swapped or, at a minimum, did not have any quality control checks performed prior to shipping. Sad day

220$ knife bought, wrong 40$ knife delivered

That knife, Spyderco Techno 1 or 2, is my favourite knife of all, but I still haven't got it, lol. But be sure I will, and hopefully both, 1 & 2.😊👍🙏🌈🌠
