So I understand, that I will be despised, but I am in need of recommendations for some completely automatic coffee machine.

In my defense, it is not intended for my use, but rather as a gift for my mother. I am very happy, that I was able to make her not Iike instant coffe anymore. And she even prefers speciality beans to supermarket ones. But she finds even an Aeropress too much work, not to mention the manual grinding. So she almost never makes a cup herself.

So I am looking for a bean-to-cup machine, that she could feed a bag speciality coffe beans and then just make cups with button presses. It might not be necessarily an espresso machine.

However, these machines are usually known for their subpar performance, when it comes to quality in the cup.

So are there any good ones? It needs to be able to grind the coffee itself. Also some setting for different roast levels would be nice. Milk-frothing ability is not required, albeit not superfluous either.

(3) This is relatively minor, but still something I found in the first week of having it on my counter

I know nothing about coffee. I'm going to buy a coffee machine for my mom. She has two machines, one where you put a cylinder thing and another where you put grinded coffee beans. I need a machine where you put grinded coffee beans. She currently uses a Mr. Coffee machine and she says she wants a new one. I want one that will last a long time and will output quality coffee. I am okay with any price as long as it's not expensive for a little bit more quality. I want a good price to coffee quality ratio if that makes sense. Open to any suggestions

.. but I’ll keep tweaking it to see how close I can get!  Downgraded rating from a 4 to a 3. After a number of attempts at brewing coffee with this machine, I could not find a way to eliminate the ashy aftertaste you normally get with most drip coffee makers

 So far, while it produces a good cup of coffee, I have yet to produce a cup as clean and with the full range of roast flavor that the Aeropress produces. The Technivorm is a great option for brewing a very good POT of coffee, but it can’t compare to the Aeropress for producing a great CUP of coffee..

 The result is a pretty smooth, yet full-bodied cup. But because you use a large paper filter - even a pre-rinsed one - you still get a good deal of “paper filter taste” in the cup; a slightly bitter and acidic aftertaste that lingers on your palate for a while after you have finished the cup. Haven’t used a permanent gold filter yet. I will try to tweak my brewing elements more before I resort to that

Possibly a good drip coffee maker, but...

 I tried with other beans, tinkered with the grind size, always varying just one factor to see if there’s an improvement, it didn’t make a difference. The other gripe with this machine is that the heated plate. I make about 24 oz of coffee and after pouring out around 10 oz, leave the rest in the glass carafe on the lower heat setting. It always, always made the coffee in the pot taste of stale cigarettes - burnt flavor

 What you’re paying for is the water heater that gets it to a hot enough temp to properly brew coffee, so it’s basically equivalent to pouring boiling water over your grinds for 5 minutes. Many coffee makers just fail to get the water hot enough. It’s obnoxiously overpriced for what you’re getting. But until it breaks, I’ll enjoy great coffee
