 Have you ever used those that you just put your sandwich in and flip over? It's like that, except it has a drawstring, and you just tighten it down and stick it in your pack, and you're good to go. As you can see, this also is not the smallest pillow out there on the market. However, for me, it's a trade-off. It's a little bit bigger

When purchased as a single entity, this pillow is--at best--an entry level backpacker pillow or something to keep in your car if you get stranded or want to take a nap on a long drive. The U-shaped travel pillows intended for airplanes are a great example of this; they cost more per cubic inch, but the compression, density, and neck support combined blow what this pillow can do out of the water

 So we pull that tight, and that just secures it up. Now these pillows, when you first unroll them, and I'll demonstrate that on the extra large here, they kind of look a bit flat and unappealing. You need to store them so that the foam has a memory, just like you can't, mate. You can see at the moment there's not much to that

 This guy's been around for ages, available in four sizes, uses recycled materials, which includes off-cuts from the foam that they use in the production of their mats to fill the pillows. These pillows have been around for quite some time. I've personally got one, I've used it for all sorts of things from camping, hiking, and even travel. Now they come in four sizes, which I've got rolled up next to me here

 So that's the biggest pillow in the range. Now I'll show you how they work here, but before I do that, the materials, this is a brushed polyester on the outside, recycled materials, and inside is the same foam that they use on their compressible mats. So these are the offcuts of all the little holes you see in the mats. They keep that, and they turn that into these pillows

I've been using a cheap inflatable pillow and I'm looking to upgrade to a new, more comfortable pillow. I was looking at the Sea to Summit down pillow but I can't bring myself to spend $60 on a pillow, it's tempting though.

Whoever decided to call this "x-large" should be slapped. I like it, but I felt that "it's okay" was a much better descriptor for the pillow, so I settled on three stars instead of 4, however, if I had the option, I'd go 3.5.  The Breakdown: - This pillow is XL if you're a chihuahua

 I know it's a lot to ask for in a camping pillow, but the one in the store on display was SO NICE! If you're going to keep rolling it up for travel, it'll never have the time to really fluff up and become the pillow of your camping dreams. - The material is really nice to sleep on, but that seam where it rolls in on itself..

 Nice as you can see kind of suede, kind of soft material, good against your skin when you're sleeping. Can't say enough good things about them. I was already the big fan of the compressible pills from Therm-Rest and now they made it even better. So there it is

 This is how compressed the medium size gets. We have the large extra large as well. They're made in America, mostly recycled materials. Very comfortable

Sleeping pad! I have an REI Camp Dreamer and a Therm-a-rest Mondoking and they’re both amazing. Together with a good pillow I’m a happy camper!

My fiancé purchased a Nemo stargaze and I stole it from her for my trip, I absolutely loved it so much that I had to pick one up. It’s so nice to be able to just lean back and not have to sit upright for hours on end, or kick my legs over the arm rest of chairs to recline and sit sideways.

What’s one piece of gear you upgrade/purchased that changed camping for you?

 Being in a mummy bag, I rolled the head portion of my bag with this pillow inside of it to make a pillow type configuration for my use. It condenses as much as you are strong to roll it up as tight as you can. It isn't designed for backpacking, as even at the most compressed, it is larger than a quart size Nalgene bottle. This is more for family camping where you have space in the car for it, for a child

I left 3 stars because it is attractive and does keep your head off the ground, but as far as any sort of uniform surface, don't expect it

For the price paid, this was a bit of a disappointment. I camp regularly and needed a smaller compact pillow for use. I've used many different styles, and for hiking my gear, I've used condensed blow up pillows. (those bite) I saw this and figured the reviews were good, but was really disappointed when I opened it up

I'm currently using Therm-a-rest's compressible pillow and it's both way too heavy and not thick enough for me (I'm a side sleeper). I'm looking into alternatives and so far I've narrowed it down to either using a S2S Aeros, or combining a FlexAir with a stuff sack pillow.
